SERVICE AGREEMENT
For service contract of the mare detailed below to the stallion “Omkara” 15.3hh Light
Buckskin with black points and white socks. Registered NZ Sporthorse Society number
02-027 and NZ Golden Horse Society number 117.
Service agreement is between the owner of the Mare and owner of the Stallion namely;

Service Fee
The service fee is $50 booking fee (non refundable) paid prior to the mare coming on. The
service fee of $450 to be paid before the mare leaves the property. This service fee includes
the guarantee of a live foal and one week free grazing. The guarantee is valid under the
following situations;
That the mare reabsorbs the embryo,
That after the mare is scanned at 42 days, she aborts the foetus.
That the foal is born dead.
That the foal dies within 24 hours of birth.
The guarantee is valid for 3 returns within 3 years. If the mare dies or is deemed unsuitable to
carry a foal, the service fee may be transferred to another mare. Costs involved are grazing
fees of $15 per week (after first week free grazing) and any associated veterinary fees.
Transport costs are the responsibility of the mares owner.
The guarantee is deemed void if the stallion dies or is gelded.
Conditions of service attempts
The Stallion owner has the right to refuse a mare if upon attempt she is unwilling to mate and
extremely hard to handle. In this case there are the following options ;
That she returns to her owner and pays only the grazing fee.
That at the owners expense, the vet is called to tranquilize her. This option would only be
undertaken upon discussions with the mare’s owner.
If upon veterinary opinion, the mare is deemed unsuitable due to her health or general nature
to carry a foal, the stallion owners have the right to refuse attempts to mate her. In this case,
only grazing fees and any vet fees apply.
The stallion owners attempt to offer a safe environment and will oversee to the general health
ad well being of the mare. However, they will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries
to the mare or her death. Neither is the mare’s owner liable to any injuries her mare may
inflict to the stallion. Depending on the mare, the stallion owners may use breeding boots,
hobbles and/or other suitable tools for serving her. All care will be taken.
We do hope upon reading this agreement that it doesn’t sound too heavy going. We are
quite a friendly team here and “Duncan” (Omkara) would love to meet your mare.
