                             President’s Message
Welcome to IMA March Madness!! March is always a great month to liven us all up…….signs of Spring
with warmer weather, end of year and taxes, Lenten celebrations, sports finales, and the best of all:
Lots of CPE hours in March!! With the March lunch 3/9/11, all day CPE 3/12/11, dinner 3/17/11, and 4 th
Thursday CPE 3/24/11 – all these hours amount to 14 CPE hours. Very impressive for one month, I
must say so myself.

This is what our Board of Directors does for you, provide qualify CPE hours, fellowship, networking, and
great community service events. On Saturday, 2/19/11, the Literacy Center Scrabble Tournament Event
was held at Ivy Tech. The IMA had at least 4 teams present and everyone had a very good time. I had
to talk my team members into joining a ―Non Pro Scrabbler‖ and we almost got the award for the worst
performance. Our coffee donation basket was probably one of the better auction buys. Jeanette Maier-
Lytle did a star performance on creating it. Thank you to everyone who made contributions.

Talking about our Board of Directors, we are getting close to having to submit our NEW BOARD of DI-
RECTORS to National at the end of this month. The crucial Director openings are: Treasurer, Meetings
and Attendance, Program Booklet, VP Membership & Marketing, and Member Retention. Please con-
sider taking a step outside of your comfort zone and get to know the Evansville IMA members by be-
coming a Board Member. Please email me jo@newburyfinancial.com or Dennis Guthery at drguth-
ery@yahoo.com if you are interested in a Board position.

March 31, 2011, is also the time when our current Board of Directors can submit Chapter Award Consid-
erations. In the past and hopefully this year, we have won awards for the following: Website Updated,
Manuscripts for Lybrand Medal, Public Relations Report, Community Service Report, Newsletter; Our
current Board of Directors are working on their award submissions as we speak! Good Luck everyone!!

For March 2011, our Community Service event is Tri-State Food Bank Collection. Please bring can
goods to our lunch & dinner sessions so we can help feed the poor in our community.

As always, we welcome your comments/suggestions and we appreciate your support of our Evansville
IMA Chapter.

Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use.
