PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CULLIGAN - NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS 2006-PRESENT
UNIX/LINUX CONSULTANT
Hired to conduct systems analysis, add automation (improve processes), document and train a newly formed
team that inherited a cluster of UNIX/Linux systems running the corporate Financial, ERP and Data
Warehouse applications.
Functional areas improved included daily MFG/Pro-Progress DB backups, BaaN-Oracle DB Backups, Vertex
Taxing Application management improvements including transaction archive and Tax Reporting. Other areas
included SAN storage reconfiguration (Storageworks EVA), USER authentication centralization and
management (LDAP/Active Directory), Tape Backup reconfiguration (Tivoli), and Data Warehouse
application startup (CyberQuery).
Analyzed, scripted, documented and participated in off hours and weekend “go-live” company owned store
conversion processes to QAD/MFG-Pro.
Completed project in record time handing the team dozen’s of process improvement scripts and accompanying
documentation. They are now very capable of handling day-to-day operations.
This project success was a direct result of my many years of experience mixing direct UNIX administrative
technical skills, documentation skills, startup, and training skills. The Culligan IT Director and CIO are
extremely satisfied and available for comment.
