Arts and Humanities Standards
with Performance Indicators

Program Standards
• Increase creativity and expressiveness through the elements of the arts (dance, drama/theatre, music, visual arts).
• Appreciate creativity and expressiveness of others.
• Appreciate and participate in the creative process to express emotions and feelings.
• Be able to function positively as an individual in a large group.
• Understand the interrelationship between the arts.
• Understand the importance of and display concert audience etiquette.
• Possess an awareness and respect for individual differences.
• Understand and appreciate the arts as an expression of culture.
• Understand the arts from an historical perspective.
• Be able to recognize and appreciate qualities in the arts and in nature.
• Be able to use the material and processes of the arts.
Key: Grade level expectations are identified by numbers (i.e., 1, 2, 3 etc.). Performance indicators are identified by letters (i.e., A, B, C etc.).
Performance indicators represent what students should be able to do at the completion of each grade level.
