FLEET SERVICE VAN DRIVER TRAINING
BYU-Idaho policy states that operators of all University motorized vehicles and equipment are
required to have a current state driver’s license and a BYU-Idaho driving permit. In order to
operate the 12 and 15-passenger vans the driver must complete “The Van Driver Training
Course” which is now provided on Blackboard. To certify for the 12 to 15-passenger vans
complete only the courses listed in red lettering. Three wrong answers per test are allowed to
pass each test successfully. If more than three are missed, the test can be re-accessed and taken
again. Upon successful completion a short behind-the-wheel driving test will be given. Please
follow the directions below to begin:
• Click on the e-mail icon below to request authorization to Blackboard before continuing.
(Fleet Services will enable your enrollment, please allow 24 hours before taking test)
• Print these directions (pg.1), the driving permit application (pg. 2). Read or print the
insurance information (pg. 3), and print the map to the Fleet Services building (pg. 4) if
needed.
• Before coming in for the behind-the-wheel driving test, fill out the application, making
sure that the Department approval signature is signed. Follow directions below to take
on-line course after authorization has been completed
