Driving Permit Test
Description

This is an example of driving permit test. This document is useful for conducting driving permit test.

FLEET SERVICE VAN DRIVER TRAINING

BYU-Idaho policy states that operators of all University motorized vehicles and equipment are

required to have a current state driver’s license and a BYU-Idaho driving permit. In order to

operate the 12 and 15-passenger vans the driver must complete “The Van Driver Training

Course” which is now provided on Blackboard. To certify for the 12 to 15-passenger vans

complete only the courses listed in red lettering. Three wrong answers per test are allowed to

pass each test successfully. If more than three are missed, the test can be re-accessed and taken

again. Upon successful completion a short behind-the-wheel driving test will be given. Please

follow the directions below to begin:

• Click on the e-mail icon below to request authorization to Blackboard before continuing.

(Fleet Services will enable your enrollment, please allow 24 hours before taking test)

• Print these directions (pg.1), the driving permit application (pg. 2). Read or print the

insurance information (pg. 3), and print the map to the Fleet Services building (pg. 4) if

needed.

• Before coming in for the behind-the-wheel driving test, fill out the application, making

sure that the Department approval signature is signed. Follow directions below to take

on-line course after authorization has been completed

Click Here to Request BlackBoard Access for Van Training

1. Go to the BYU-I home page

• Click on “On-Line Courses”

• Click on the Blackboard “Login”

• Enter your “username” and “password

2. Go to bottom of the screen

• Under the “my courses box” click on the Fleet Services link

• Once inside see if there is any new posted announcements to read.

• Click on the blue “assignments” box to the left

• Read Driver Training appendix A. (Do this first)

• Watch Van Driving Video 1 and take Van Driving Training Test #1

• Follow the directions; at the end of the page click on “submit”. This saves the quiz to

the system. Fleet Services then verifies that your test was completed.

• At your convenience proceed through video and test numbers 2 and 3.

When you are finished with all three tests, call Fleet Services at 2466 for an appointment to

take a behind-the wheel driving test. At that time, bring the completed and signed

application with current drivers license to Fleet Services. With the successful completion of

the driving test, a BYU-Idaho driving permit will be issued.

Note: If you are taking the driver training course in a public place, like the library, you

need to bring a set of head-phones with you so you can hear the video and not disrupt

others around you. Occasionally, off campus computers will not play video clips. In such

cases, please use campus computers.
