                                      BAYFRONT BUILDS CONNECTIONS
                                      WE CAN COUNT ON
Laterika Jelks has reconnected with many former friends at Bayfront. Here, team members Laterika and Amber Hevel get together with friends after
                                      finding each other at Bayfront.

Many turn to Facebook to find former classmates and old friends. I just go to the
                                      Bayside Cafe’.

Growing up in St. Petersburg, it’s never a big surprise to The very way Bayfront builds bridges in the community,
run into the kid who sat behind me in sixth grade science connecting people to the healthcare they need, it builds
or the teacher who was standing at the front of that class. connections within our family as well. Whether reconnecting
St. Petersburg is the tiniest big city I know. Here everybody with dear friends or making new ones, Bayfront brings us
knows everybody - and that makes for pretty regular together in a common bond that each of us will always have.
serendipitous run-ins. Still, I’m pleasantly surprised every Before I had the honor of being a Bayfront team member,
time I reconnect with a friend in the halls of our great I felt like a part of the Bayfront Family, largely because of
hospital. And, believe it or not, it happens all the time! First the gracious hospitality, friendship and love extended to me
it was Carol Valentine, growing up we called her Niecey. by that family over the years. From my time as a patient on

sharing many holidays and happy memories. As we both same caregivers who offered such excellent care, to my
grew older, we saw each other less and eventually lost current experience as a member of the Foundation team,
touch. That is, until we reconnected in the cafeteria. Instant I’ve formed connections - and reconnections - that are real
bonding over childhood memories and cheese grits, courtesy and long lasting. Bayfront is an important and valuable
of Bayfront. Then there are the nurses I saw in Orientation piece of our community that touches many lives in many
who I knew as two of my closest friends in high school, ways. Thanks for the connections.
sharing lockers and lunches, long before we were sharing
team member experiences. I was so excited and proud to
