   Jesus Christ’s Genealogy
Matthew 1:1
The record of the genealogy of Jesus the
Messiah, the son of David, the son of
 Abraham:

Matthew 1:5-6a
Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab,
Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and
Obed the father of Jesse. Jesse was the
 father of David the king.

Matthew 1:16
Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband
of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is
 called the Messiah.
     Jesus Our Kinsman
John 1:14
And the Word became flesh, and
dwelt among us, and we beheld His
glory, glory as of the only begotten
from the Father, full of grace and
 truth.
      Jesus Our Kinsman
Hebrews 2:14-17
Therefore, since the children share in flesh
and blood, He Himself likewise also
partook of the same, that through death He
might render powerless him who had the
power of death, that is, the devil, and
might free those who through fear of death
were subject to slavery all their lives.
Therefore, He had to be made like His
brethren in all things, so that He might
become a merciful and faithful high priest
in things pertaining to God, to make
propitiation for the sins of the people.
    Jesus Our Redeemer
 Redemption Defined: “To set free by
  the payment of a price”

 Emphasizes that through His death,
Christ set the believer free from
  enslavement to sin.

 English word redeem: “I deem as
worthy and I am willing to pay the
  price to possess it.”
    Jesus Our Redeemer
Galatians 4:4-5
But when the fullness of time came,
God sent forth His Son, born of a
woman, born under the Law, in order
that He might redeem those who
were under the Law, that we might
 receive the adoption as sons.
    Jesus Our Redeemer
1 Peter 1:18-19
knowing that you were not redeemed
with perishable things like silver or
gold from your futile way of life
  inherited from your forefathers, but
with precious blood, as of a lamb
  unblemished and spotless, the blood
  of Christ.
