“Re-building and Transforming Lives Beyond…”
November 24, 2010
Happy Thanksgiving to You All!
Once again it’s Thanksgiving! I hope and pray you and your families are able to have a “ Turkey”
to celebrate this year.
Growing up in a small village as a young boy in a third world country, such as Haiti, which
considered being the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Thanksgiving wasn’t a cultural
tradition of ours. When I realized where God took me from, lifted me up, placed me among the
great of His people, blessed me personally in so many ways, used others to be blessings to me, I
realized thanksgiving is not only a tradition for the Pilgrims, but for me as well. It was only by the grace of God that I
survived “hunger”. He is the reason why I am who I am today. Therefore, God deserves all of my Thanks!
I hope it is the same for you too, regardless of life's challenges, losses, and whatever you’ve been through; I believe we
all have much to be thankful for. We can have an attitude of gratitude, focus on what is right in our lives and be thankful
for those things. We can choose to be thankful for what we have and who God is, as opposed to what we don't
have. Let's offer thanksgiving to God in advance for what He is going to do and for the prayers yet to be answered!
In Psalm 95:2 the Psalmist invites us to “come before him with thanksgiving and exalt Him with music and song”. Psalm
30:11-12 tells us why because He turned my wailing and your wailing into dancing, He removed our sackcloth’s and
clothed us with joy, so that our hearts may sing to Him and not be silent and give Him thanks forever.
As you gather to say thanks to God today, would you remember Apoxee International Ministries? Would you express
thanksgiving for what God is doing through this ministry in your life and in the lives of the People in Haiti, as we are
helping them to overcome the current Cholera epidemic? If God speaks to you, would you share a special financial
Thanksgiving contributions with us? Your donation will help us provide more medical supplies and more food assistance to
thousands of kids and their families. Please equip us to continue bringing God's hope and healing to those children and
families in need in Haiti right now - particularly this upcoming Holiday season!
In conclusion, 2 Corinthians 9:11 says that God made a promises in return to each of us that” You will be made rich in
every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to
God. Your contributions whether as a participant in a Mission trip or as a donor to AIM, are crucial ingredients in realizing
the mission of AIM in Haiti: to build a world where there is enough for all and to transform lives for Eternity. On this
Thanksgiving Day, let us recommit ourselves to that promise.
May you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Yours in service,
