									Mr Colin Gordon

Colin graduated from York and Warwick Universities and his early career included periods as a
management consultant specialising in Industrial and Human Relations, and as Personnel Director
of a retail fashion chain. In 1977 he joined International Distillers & Vintners, the largest wine and
spirit company in the world and part of Grand Metropolitan plc (subsequently Diageo). In a 20 year
career starting as a Personnel Director of the UK company, Colin's roles included UK Finance
Director, MD of the UK, President of Europe and Worldwide Strategy Director.

He has acquired broad industry experience in engineering, alcoholic beverages and retailing as an
international plc Chief Executive with extensive strategic, turnaround and acquisition experience in
branded goods. He successfully built up a major European business from a small base, and was
involved in start ups in Central and Eastern Europe as part of that venture. He also has a European
perspective of the business world in his capacity as non-executive Director of several public and
private businesses in Italy, Spain and Hungary.

In 1997 Colin was recruited as Chief Executive of Kenwood plc, a small public company specialising
in the design and manufacture of kitchen appliances which had run into difficulties. In his role as
company doctor the business was completely restructured, repositioned to focus on brand building
and subsequently sold as part of an industry consolidation. Colin retired from Kenwood in 2002.

Special areas of interest include strategy, marketing and personnel training and development.

Colin is also a non-executive Chairman of PJ Pipe & Valve Co Ltd, a local engineering firm, and is a
non-executive Director of the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
He has been a Governor of the University of Hertfordshire since 2003.
