   How to Use This Guide
   This manual is intended to give instructions to persons who are responsible for installing, configuring and oper-
   ating the Client Viewer 2000 Series


   Conventions
   The following symbols and notations are used throughout this document:
            Warning!
                    This symbol indicates that failure to follow the safety instructions described may endanger
                    users and cause damage to the unit or to other equipment.

            Note/ Tip
                     This symbol indicates tips and information for easier, more convenient use of the unit.

   Safety Warnings and Information
   Electrical shock hazard
   • Never attempt to connect the unit to any power source other than the type for which it was intended.
   • Use only the power supply provided.
   • Never open the casing!
   • If a fault occurs, disconnect the power supply unit from the mains supply and from all other devices.
   • Install the unit and power it on only in dry, weather-protected areas.
   • If safe operation of the unit cannot be guaranteed, remove it from service. This might happen if:
   – there is visible damage to the unit or power cables
   – the unit no longer works properly
   – the unit has been exposed to rain or moisture
   – foreign matter has infiltrated the unit
   – the unit has been stored in improper conditions
   – the unit has been exposed to a high level of stress during transport

   Installation and operation
   • Always comply with relevant electrical guidelines.
   • Before installing or operating the unit, make sure you have read and understood the documentation for all
   other equipment connected to it (e.g. cameras, analog monitors, etc.).
   • Follow the installation and operating procedures described in this manual. Failure to do so may result in
   personal injuries, property damage or damage to the equipment.

   Maintenance and repair
   • Never open the casing of the Linda Series unit. It does not contain parts that you can repair or replace.
   • Never open the housing of the power supply unit. The power supply unit does not contain parts that you can
   repair or replace.
   • Ensure that all maintenance or repair work is performed exclusively by qualified personnel.

   Ch. 2. Overview

   Overview
           Client Viewer 2000 Series controls display of and live camera shots, search, play back and back up of
           video on displays up to 4 cameras at a time. Easy to use Graphic User Inference ( GUI ) allows the user to
           monitor live view, search and backup video and still images from one location.

   Features
           Live view up to 4 cameras at the same time
           Search and back up in Native, AVI and DVD format
           Still Image Print
           Still Image Save in BMP and JPEG format



   System Requirements
           Intel Pentium 4 Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz or better
           ATI Graphic Card with 512MB RAM
           2GB System RAM
           Windows XP SP2 or better
           Display Monitor capable of 1280 x 1024 resolution
           Access to network

   Installation Requirements
           Administrative rights to the PC
           Linda System User ID and Password - Must be setup in ICMS prior to installation
           IP Address of ICMS

   Ch. 3 Operation

   3.1 Log In of Client Viewer 2000
             After installation is complete, a dialogue box for Log-in will appear on the screen. This login screen
             only appears once on initial log in.

                       NOTE: If IP address and / or User information changes, Client viewer must be reinstalled to
                       update login information

         2      User Name             Type User Name - User name must be set up in ICMS first
         3      Password              Type Password - Password must be set up in ICMS first
         4      Okay                  Press to Login
         5      Cancel                Cancel Login
         6      Virtual Keyboard      Virtual Keyboard may be used if PC is not equipped with physical
                                      keyboard

   Procedure:
             1. Type IP address of ICMS Server. (Initial Login only)
             2. Type User Name and Password
             3. Click “Okay” button to complete Log-In process. The Main Screen for Client Viewer will appear.


             NOTE: Use Virtual Keyboard button if physical keyboard is not available.

   3.2 Live View Mode
              Live mode will start without any camera selected. User must select camera(s) from camera tree
              on the left pane of the screen then drag and drop to display area. Up to 4 Live cameras can be
              monitored at a time. Any available camera can dragged and dropped to any channel on the dis-
              play area

    3.2.1 Feature Button details

      Item Function                Description

        1    Print                 Prints snap shot currently displayed images to printer.

        2    Still Save            Saves snap shot of currently selected camera display in BMP or
                                   JPEG Format
        3    Backup                Saves selected video in Native, AVI, or DVD format.
                                   *It will only operate in Search Mode.
        4    Mouse Zoom            Allows digital zoom of selected display by selecting area of interest
                                   with mouse
        5    Single / Quad         Select and Switch between Single and Quad Screen Split View
             Screen Split
        6    Screen Rotation       Manual Screen Rotation. Screen will rotate in order listed in Cam-
                                   era tree every time it is pressed. It will only be enabled in Single
                                   View Mode.

        7    Screen Auto Rota-     Auto Screen Rotation. Screen will rotate in order listed in Camera
             tion                  tree automatically every 3 seconds. It will only be enabled in Single
                                   View Mode
        8    Full Screen           Enables Full screen view without camera tree or the features but-
                                   tons. Right mouse click to exit full screen mode

        9    Brightness/ Contrast Controls brightness and contrast of images of current client viewer
                                  only. It will not affect global setting in ICMS

   3.2.2 Selecting Camera for Live View

           User can use mouse to simply drag and drop any available camera from
           camera tree on the left pane to display area in any order. Up to 4 cameras
           can be viewed at a time.

   3.3 Search Mode
              Select search mode by selecting search mode tab. It will continue to show live view camera until user
              selects camera and date/time for each selected channel. Selected channel is indicated with red border.

   3.3.1 Search Mode Feature Button Details

       1    All                  Selecting it allows playback control of all 4 channels at the same

       2    Playback Control     Provides Playback controls:
                                 1. Play: Normal Play
                                 2. Reverse: Reverse Play
                                 3. Next: Forwards one frame at a time
                                 4. Previous: Reverses one frame at a time
                                 5. Begin: Go to begging to of the selected time
                                 6. End: Go to end of the selected time
       3    Search Time          Shows currently selected time which corresponds to Search Time
                                 Line
       4    Time Line Search     Allows search and playback by Hours (H), Minutes (M), and Sec-
                                 onds (S).
                                 Grey: No recorded data
                                 Green: Recorded data in Normal Mode
                                 Blue: Recorded data in Motion detection mode
                                 Red: Recorded data in Sensor detection mode
       5    Time Sync            Allows time synchronization of 2 or more search channels to se-
                                 lected channels (Selected channel is indicated by red outline)
       6    Time Refresh         Refreshes Time Line Search

   3.3.2 How To Search and Playback

        A. Searching and Loading Video
        1. Select Search Tab
        2. Select Camera from Camera Tree
        3. Press “+” to expand and show year and month list
        4. Select Month then drag and drop it to display area. It can be dropped to any channel on the
            display area.
        5. Select date from calendar, then Hours, Minutes, and seconds from Time line. Double click
            on it to load and start playing
        6. Repeat 1 to 5 for search up to 3 additional cameras at a time

             NOTE: Use Playback control buttons to manipulate playback.

        B. Using Time Sync to Search

        1. Perform steps 1 to 5 from section A above on 2 or more channels
        2. Select the channel and time of the video you want it to be sync to. (Red outline will indicate
           currently selected channel)
        3. Press “Sync” button. Wait for few seconds.
        4. All remaining search channels will time synchronize with selected channels.

             NOTE: Press “All” button to control playback back of all search channels at once

            Camera and month highlighted 1 here will be displayed in Timeline   and

            double clicking on any part of time line with data will display video on

            the selected channel    3 with red border.

   3.3.3 Printing Still Image

    The user can print hard copy of image(s) directly from search mode by pressing Print button.

      1    Print                      Print Setup will be displayed. Select printer and printer settings to
                                      print selected channel(s) .
      2    Select Channel             Select Printable Channel(s) from 1 to 4. Channel 1 will be se-
                                      lected by default
      3    Print Layout               Select number of channels to print per page

      4    Page                       Previous and Next Page

      5    Image Information          Image information that corresponds to the image being printed

      6    Comments                   User can note comments for each page

   3.3.4 Saving Still Image

   Still Image Save feature allows the user to save still images in either JPG or BMP format. Unlike Print function,
   Image Save function only allow saving of one channel image at a time.




            1. Search and select image you want to save. Pause the playback (recommended)
            2. Press “Still Save”.
            3. Select File type you want to save it as.
            4. Select location you want to save to.
            If you intend to use CD/DVD, be sure to insert blank CD or DVD ROM in to the drive.
            5. Select Directory Path. (Optional for organization purpose)
            6. Press Save.
            7. Wait for “The Image is Saved” message

   3.3.5 Saving Video Clip - Backup

   Backup video feature will allow clip of video(s) to be saved on Hard Drive, Floppy, CD, or DVD as stand-
   alone playable Native, AVI, or DVD format. Up to 4 channels of either Time Synced or Non-Time
   Synced clips can be saved at once. Length of the video will only be limited by the storage medium be-
   ing used.




   1. Once the beginning of the video clip has been located (refer to section 3.2.2) press “Backup” button
   2. Select Channels to be backed up
   3. Specify Duration - start time will be automatically filled in from step 1.
   4. Select Backup type: Original Data Format - Native format for Linda system.
                            AVI - Standard AVI format playable with Windows Media Player 9 or higher
                            DVD - Standard DVD format playable in regular DVD player
   5. Select Media Type - Hard Drive, CD, DVD
   6. Select Directory Path - Optional for organization purpose
   7. Specify Folder Name - Required
   8. Press Save and wait for “Backup Complete” message.


         NOTE: Please make sure the selected image size do not exceed free space available on the
         selected media

   3.4 Mini Viewer
             Mini Viewer allows playback of backed up video in Original Linda system file format.
             It allows playback up to 3 times the normal speed, reverse play, frame by frame forward
              and backward play. It has ability to zoom in to any part of the video using mouse.

             Mouse Zoom : Draw a box around the video area to be zoom in to. Zoomed video can be
             moved using mouse

   3.5 Playing AVI Files
           When video is backed up using AVI format to CD or DVD, inserting a CD or DVD
           into a CD/DVD ROM drive will automatically play recorded files using Windows Media
           Player 9 or above. You can also manually play each individual files using Windows Media
           Player or other compatible AVI player.
