NCYU’s Reward Methods for International Students Passing the Chinese Proficiency Test

Approved at 2009-4-14 by the administration meeting





1. Purpose: To reward the international students taking the Chinese Proficiency Test – Huayu

(Top-Huayu) held by the Steering Committee for the Chinese Proficiency Test – Huayu, the

“NCYU’s Reward Methods for International Students Passing the Chinese Proficiency Test” is

subscribed

(Hereinafter to be referred as this method).





2. Subjects: Subjects of this method includes international students and exchange students of

NCYU.





3. Categories, criteria and amount of money of this method are as shown below:

a. International students of NCYU passing the Chinese Proficiency Test held by the

government can receive a registration allowance of NT 1,000.

b. Passing TOP-Huayu advanced level 7 can receive NT 3,000 as a reward.

c. Passing TOP-Huayu advanced level 6 can receive NT 2,700 as a reward.

d. Passing TOP-Huayu advanced level 5 can receive NT 2,400 as a reward.

e. Passing TOP-Huayu intermediate level 4 can receive NT 2,100 as a reward.

f. Passing TOP-Huayu intermediate level 3 can receive NT 1,900 as a reward.

g. Passing TOP-Huayu Basic level 2 can receive NT 1,600 as a reward.

h. Passing TOP-Huayu Basic level 1 can receive NT 1,300 as a reward.

i. Passing TOP-Huayu Beginner level can receive NT 1,000 as a reward.

A 20% tax will be deducted from these rewards, and the rewards will be regulated based on the

funds allocated by the “Policy on Recruiting Foreign Students by the Ministry of Education”.





4. Related application procedure and regulation are as shown below:

a. Application date: May 25th to June 5th in the first semester, and November 27th to December

8th in the second semester.

b. Contact Language Center.

c. Documents needed: (1 each)

 Application form (please download it from the NCYU Language Center website).

 A copy of both sides of the student’s identification card.

 A copy of the student’s residence permit (ARC) or passport.

 A copy of both sides of the student’s bank or post office account deposit book.

 Certificate of test (the original is needed and will be returned after confirmation).

d. The fifth document needed should be obtained while enrolled in NCYU. Students who have been

in the program for more than two years are not eligible.

e. Students should submit the application form within the allotted time, rewards will be provided

after deliberation by the Language Center’s review committee board, formation method of this

committee will be arranged separately.

f. Each student can only submit an application once for each level while enrolled in NCYU and the

rewards will be provided according to the application sequence. If funding is not enough for the

rewards, applications for that year can have priority to receive money when funds are obtained.





5. Funds of this method are allocated by the “Policy on Recruiting Foreign Students by the Ministry

of Education”.





6. This method is approved by the Language Center’s convention and administration meeting, and

are also appraised and decided by the headmaster of NCYU.
