Welcome to this year's 3rd series Kinabalu Cycling Challenge 2011

Introduction
Sabah’s diverse terrain with natural topography and spectacular
landscape, off roads and mountain trails make Sabah an ideal venue
for mountain biking as well as road races.


The Kinabalu Cycling Challenge 2011 however has its humble
beginning in 2008, it started off as a leisure ride and a get together
challenge race.

This year it has developed eventually to a proper organized
challenge event where a road Bike Category is featured
permanently in its event with the hope of attracting enthusiastic
road racers from within Sabah, Peninsula Malaysia and its
neighbours namely Brunei, Philippines and Singapore.

We will strive to produce events that makes a difference in people’s
life by continually maximizes the enjoyment of the athletes, the
exposure of sponsors and the well-being of the community.

Apart from enjoying the sport, Kota Kinabalu is also a place to
sample fresh seafood. Sabah is renowned for Nature and adventure
Eco destinations with our Icon Kinabalu Park World heritage site. Mt
kinabalu towering at 4095.2m is the highest Mountain in South East
Asia. Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park is a Mere 20 min by boat
with crystal clear water, ideal for swimming, snorkeling as well as
diving while Sandakan is the Wildlife corridor renowned for its
famous wildlife the “Orang utan”. If you have the time to spare, to
see in its natural habitat the “Proboscis monkeys”, wild crocodiles
of the Kinabatangan and Selingan Island's turtles.

9.   COMPETITION REGULATION
     The race will be run according to the specific regulation by the MNCF as
     well as the Rules and Regulation of the UCI. Penalties according to the
     penalty scale by the UCI will apply.

     EQUIPMENTS
     MTB bike and Road Bike on asphalt sealed road
     Compulsory to wear a hard-shell helmet, Aero-bar is not allowed
     No Limitation on use of type of tire
10.   PRIZE MONEY
      1st to 3rd place in each event will receive Cash prize and Trophy
      4th to 5th will receive Cash Prize + goodies accordingly.
      There will a Lucky Draw for all participants from the sponsors

11.   SIDE EVENT (Tentative)
      Side event will be held on 2011 as a closed event.


12.   INVITATION
      Invitation will be extended to all Cycling Association in Malaysia and Cycling
      Clubs through the Malaysian National Cycling Federation and Cycling Clubs in
      Sabah. Invitation will also be extended to neighboring countries, Brunei
      Darussalam, Singapore as well as Philippines.


13.   REGISTRATION AND CLOSING DATE
      Registration must reach the Organizer on or before 05 September 2011
      Team Managers meeting will be on 23 July 2011
      Closing Date will be on or before 10 September 2011
      Late or last minute registration will not be entertained

19.   ACCOMMODATION
      Official / Commissaries will be accommodated in the official hotel. Distance
      from Airport 20 km and travel time to airport is approximately 30 min.


20.   REQUIREMENTS
      Participation is open to riders affiliated to their National Cycling Federation
      and must have a valid license issued by their National Federation.


21.   TRANSPORTATION
      The organizer is not responsible for any injuries, personal body defects and
      loss of valuable things caused by the riders and the officials themselves. All
      participants/officials are reminded to insure themselves accordingly. All
      officials and the teams/riders need to inform their travel details such as
      date of arrival and departure times, flight number, and accommodation for
      the transport arrangement in Kota Kinabalu.


22.   HOSPITAL
      The nearest hospital is Sabah Medical centre is located about 10 min from
      the Venue.
23.   RELEASE AND INDEMNITY
      The organizer is not responsible or liable for any injuries, personal body
      defects and loss of valuable things caused by the riders and the officials
      themselves. All Participants/officials are reminded to insure themselves
      accordingly.

By signing the participant / registration form,
The participant agreed and hereby release, forever discharged the organizers, it’s
officials, agents, partners from any and all claims and proceedings of any nature
whatsoever, in relation to incidental to or virtue of any injuries, loss, accidents or
damage suffered of sustained by me in connection with my participation in the race
or at any time when I am near the race.

And hereby indemnify, and hold harmless, and shall keep indemnified and held
harmless, each of the organizers from and against all claims, suits, demands,
expenses, costs, actions and proceedings of any nature whatsoever arising from, in
relation to incidental to or by virtue.

I have carefully read this entry form and agree to abide by the rules and directions
of the race official on the day.

The Organizer reserve the right to change, alter, amend the rules and
regulation or cancel the race due to bad weather or any others consequences
beyond our control.
