of flow the reynolds
number changes. This

Visual observation of die
(thread) will indicate the
type of flow which can be

reynolds number
computed.
This apparatus
demonstrates the
dependence of flow on
Reynolds Number using a
filament of dye injected
into the fluid. The flow
rate can be varied and the
transition between laminar
and turbulent flow can be
clearly demonstrated. The
effect of viscosity on the
behavior can be shown by
varying the temperature
control module, or by
using different fluids.
