NAUTICAL CLUB “BELGRADE”
About us
The club was first established as a club for water sports "Radnik" in the last century.
Moto-nautical club has been developing slowly and with a lot of hard work. Since 1958
the club's name is Moto-nautical Club "Belgrade". Our competitors achieved great
results, numerous awards and honours in all racing disciplines, in boats 175 – 2000
cubic on the former territories of Yugoslavia. In 1969, in the discipline formula 1 on
water, the member of our club and multiple Champion, Dragoljub Kokotović-Koka won
second place on the European Championships.
Unfortunately, the sport of racing boats was slowly but inevitably disappearing. So
the name was changed to Nautical Club "Belgrade" situated at Ada Ciganlija 9. Six
years ago (2004) we founded the school of kayak and canoe, thus becoming sport
friends with our neighbours, rowing clubs, "Grafičar", "Crvena Zvezda", "Partizan". The
Čukarica armlet was the place of sport competition, but also successful collaboration of
rowers and kayakers and canoeists. First coach was Matija Radović, who was replaced
in 2006 by Slaviša Stajović who is on this position till this day. We are affiliated to
Canoe Federation of Belgrade and consecutively full members of Canoe Federation of
Serbia.
We have competitors in all age categories, from pioneers to seniors, in kayak and
canoe, canoe sprint and wild water canoeing, men and women. We participate at almost
all regattas in Serbia and abroad. We have achieved great results, diplomas, awards
and over 150 medals in the last few years. Some competitors are state champions,
some full member of the National team of Serbia.
We have showed great effort in organisation of our International ĐurĎevdan Kayak-
Canoe Regatta which is held on Sava Lake traditionally every year. Every year more
and more clubs are entering the competition resulting in the larger number of
disciplines.
