                        Perth Zoo is recognised internationally for its breeding programs and
                        conservation work and has established itself as a major tourist attraction in
                        Western Australia. Perth Zoo is a member of the World Association of Zoos
                        and Aquariums and is a part of international, regional and local breeding and
                        conservation programs to ensure the maintenance of bio-diversity.

Perth Zoo currently has a fixed term vacancy up to 7 December 2013 as a Keeper within our
Elephant Section. The Keeper’s role involves providing the highest possible levels of welfare,
husbandry, species management, conservation research and enrichment for the group of elephants
in our care.

To be considered please write to us answering the following three questions and attach a current
resume and a completed application form. Preferred applicants may be required to undertake a
short trial period before a final decision is made. Suitable candidates may be considered for similar
vacancies on the section over the next 12 months.

1. Please outline your experience in the husbandry and training of elephants including your
   ability to work safely with and around elephants.

2. What experience do you have that demonstrates you are capable of working as an effective
   team member within a close knit team?

3. Briefly describe your experience using Operant Conditioning techniques to train animals,
   including a list of the species you have trained. Use examples to demonstrate this.
