BIOSTIM® DIGITAL NMS+

NEUROMUSCULAR STIMULATOR

BioMedical Life Systems

www.bmls.com

Overview

BioMedical Life Systems is proud to introduce its new generation of electrotherapy devices, the BioStim®

Digital NMS + Muscle Stimulator. Its compact size and user-friendly programming features make the

BioStim®’s design unique among electrotherapy devices.

The unit measures 3.75” x 2.5” x 1.25” when closed, and opens and additional 2.5” to reveal the easy to

read LCD screen and digital keypad. Simple to understand instructions guide the user through all of the

device’s operations. Five pre-programmed protocols, three of which are incontinence therapies,

ensure ease of use. With two waveforms to choose from, asymmetrical or symmetrical biphasic square

waves, the device can be used as a Muscle Stimulator and/or a TENS device. The unit has three

types of stimulation, continuous, cycled or reciprocating and adjustable pulse rate and pulse width. The patient lock system,

when activated, allows parameters to be set and locked preventing the patient from changing the settings. When the patient lock is

deactivated, the patient compliance meter is displayed showing the cumulative time the device has been used. The timer allows the

patient to set the duration of each therapy session. The two-channel device incorporates touch proof design and operates on four AA

batteries.

General Specifications

Size: 3.75" x 2.5" x 1.25" (95 mm x 63 mm x 32 mm)

Weight: 8 oz (266 grams)

Channels: Dual

Waveform: Asymmetrical square biphasic (TENS)

Symmetrical, biphasic, square (NMS)

Pulse Rate (adj.): 1- 120 Hz

Pulse Width: 0 - 400 µs

Stimulation 1. Continuous Stimulation

Modes: Use the Constant Mode or a pulse rate greater than 60 Hz for the

relaxation of muscle spasms only. Use of continuous stimulation and/or

rates above the normal physiological range (e.g., greater than 60 Hz)

could lead to the rapid onset of muscle fatigue, making the device less

effective in producing repeated forceful muscle contractions

2. Cycled

3. Reciprocating

Five Therapy 1 : 35 Hz, 300 µs, Symmetrical Biphasic

Preprogrammed Therapy 2 : 35 Hz, 300 µs, Asymmetrical Biphasic

Therapies: Therapy 3 : 50 Hz, 180 µs, Symmetrical Biphasic

Therapy 4: 20 Hz, 250 µs, Symmetrical Biphasic

Therapy 5: 10 Hz, 50 µs, Symmetrical Biphasic

Output Voltage: 49 Volts peak to peak

Intensity (adj.): 0-120 mA

Output Voltage: 0-49 V

Intensity: 0-49 V 0-98 mA

Power Supply: 4 AA Batteries

Data was recorded across a 500 ohm resistance load.
