Raju Shete, Chairman, Radhakrishna Foodland
When, Forty-six year old, Raju Shete took over from his father in 1979, at a tender age of
seventeen, the annual turnover of the family business, which calls itself Radhakrishna Group,
was Rs 7 lakh. It is today estimated to be about Rs 650 crore.
With manpower of over 16,000, the Radhakrishna Group has attained a reputation of being a
leader in the food related domain with operations in contract foodservice, foodservice
distribution, retail solutions, logistics, food vouchers and exports. The company is providing
Wholesale Broadline Distribution with accounts like Apna Bazar, and logistics, distribution and
back-end solutions to top retailers and corporates such as Pantaloon, Metro Cash & Carry,
McDonald’s, Subway, Pizza Hut, HLL, Cadbury, Amul, ITC, Venky’s and Chambal Fertilisers,
among others. It is also into front-end retail with its Foodland Fresh. A Radhakrishna Group
initiative, Foodland Fresh today has the largest number of outlets in the food and grocery
format in Maharashtra.
Radhakrishna Foodland has won SAP ACE 2007 – Award for Customer Excellence in the Retail
segment for Best Retail Implementation.
