					Questionnaire for those at the G20 protest who consider
that they may have been treated unlawfully
SECTION A

    1. We would like to make you aware that by completing this questionnaire, you are
       providing us with personal data and consenting to us using the data to see if we can
       take on your case, to give you any further advice or to establish if your information
       could be useful witness evidence in support of someone else’s case, in which case
       your contact details may be passed to their lawyers. If you are not happy with
       this, please do let us know. Please be assured that your personal data will be
       destroyed if it is no longer needed for any of these purposes.

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, then you may have a claim to pursue a claim for
compensation against the police. However, in order assess this someone from the Action Against Police
department will need to telephone you to ask you a few further brief questions to see if we are able to
assist.

urgency of the matter, we are aiming to gather general information on a range of issues. If we can take
on your case, we will advise you fully. However, nothing in this document should be taken to constitute
legal advice. There may be further types of legal action available to you, which have not been covered in
this document.
If the matter is on-going then it would be too early for us to consider whether or not you have
any possible civil action in relation to your arrest and/or charge. However, if your matter is
concluded you may have a claim. In order to assess whether you may have a claim someone
from the Action Against Police department will need to telephone you to ask you a few further brief

If you have already been interviewed at the police station (but not been charged) and had a solicitor
present then unfortunately we will not be able to represent you on a legally aided basis whilst your case
is still at the police station. We may however, if you are eligible, be able to represent you on legal aid
if you are charged.
