Notes
1. The application must be presented in duplicate.
2. Notification of the outcome of the accreditation will be sent to applicants by mail at the address provided in this section.
3. Give just one area of knowledge.
4. Give no more than two fields of knowledge. AQU does not issue reports on any specific field of knowledge; the definitive assignment of
applications is made by the review panels.
Documentation to be enclosed
With applications for the issue of accreditations it is necessary to enclose the following documentation:
1. Two copies of the application form correctly filled out.
2. One copy of the accreditation document of the nationality of the applicant (ID card or passport)
3. In case of belonging to a numerous family, copy of the certificate.
4. One copy of the applicant’s curriculum vitae in paper format and another one in electronic format
(preferably PDF). Regarding the sections B (Publications), C (Artistic works and architectural projects),
and D (Patents and models of utility) of the curriculum, it is necessary to bring all datum that identifies the
merits. Otherwise, these merits will not be considered in the evaluation.
5. Copy of the PhD degree certificate.
6. Regarding the directed doctoral theses, it is necessary to bring a certificate issued by the university in
which the following information figures: the title and the date of reading of the thesis, the doctor’s nama
and the qualification obtained.
7. It is not necessary to present copies of publications listed in the CV. In cases where a work has been
accepted but is still pending publication it should be presented on paper or in digital format (preferably
PDF or alternatively MS-Word), together with documentary proof of acceptance for publication by the
editor.
8. Up to three reports in letter format drawn up by academics of international prestige which deal with the
research activity of the candidate may be presented. You will find the instructions in www.aqu.cat.
Tariff
Applicants must make the corresponding payment within a period of ten days at any banking institution on by means of bank transfer to the
following account: Caixa Catalunya 2013-0500-17-0213546947 (Swift code: CESCESBBXXX, IBAN code: ES61 2013 0500 1702 1354 6947),
indicating the full name of the applicant in the subject field.

The Agency for Quality Assurance in the Catalan University System (AQU Catalunya)
AQU Catalunya is an agency whose objective is the assessment, accreditation and certification of quality in the university ambit. AQU Catalunya
forms part of the European quality agency network; further information on the agency can be found at: www.aqu.cat
As an external assessment body, AQU Catalunya performs a fundamental role in the contracting model for staff within the legal framework of the
Universities of Catalunya Act 1/2003, 19 February (LUC). This can be consulted at www.gencat.net/dursi, where you will also find information on
the Serra Húnter Plan for the contracting of academic staff at universities in Catalunya.
The accreditations granted by AQU Catalunya during the academic career of teaching and research staff are a means of guaranteeing that
contracts are based on merit and that the academic staff taken on meet the necessary quality requisites.
Accreditations issued by AQU Catalunya
Within the framework of the LUC, the accreditations issued by AQU are:
a) Accreditation of research; this certifies a proven teaching and research capacity and permits entry to the category of tenured
associate professor.
b) Accreditation of advanced research; this certifies a consolidated teaching and research career and permits entry to the
category of full professor.
To receive a contract in one of these categories it is also necessary to meet the requisites established by law and pass the selection
process which the university organises.
AQU Catalunya does not issue accreditations for research linked to a specific area of knowledge.

1. In accordance with the provisions of Article 5 of Organic Law 15/1999, of 13th December, on the Protection of Personal Data,
AQU Catalunya informs you that the information provided in this application form and other details provided during the call for
candidates will be incorporated to the Teaching Staff File so that the Agency may manage your assessment or accreditation
dossier.
At any given time, you may exercise your right to access, change, cancel and oppose your personal information by sending a
digitally signed email to infor@aqucatalunya.org or by sending a letter by post with a photocopy of your national ID card or
equivalent document to: AQU Catalunya, Via Laietana, 28, 5a planta, 08003, Barcelona.
2. By signing this application form you agree to allow your details and the results of the assessment or accreditation that you have
requested to be made available to the universities in Catalonia and to the department of the Generalitat of Catalunya in charge of
universities so as to improve the employment and quality policies for university teaching and research staff.
