It’s everyone’s favorite time of year - a time to get together with family and friends. Time to
have fun in the snow and time to GO SHOPPING!!!
This year SFEA will be taking one trip to the Chicago Loop and two trips to Woodfield Mall.
Choose the trip that is best for you or go on all of them!! You may enroll for any or all of the
shopping trips. Separate checks and enrollment forms are required for each trip.
Married SFEA members may bring any dependent family members OR one guest at the
member price. Single employee members may bring any dependent family members AND
one guest at the member price. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All
riders (even small children) must purchase a seat. (NO guest enrollments will be
accepted during the regular enrollment period. Any guest enrollments received during this
time will be returned).
If you are enrolling with other SFEA shoppers and would like to be considered as one
enrollment in the event of a drawing, complete the enrollment forms, staple together, and
mail in one envelope. Those wishing to sit together on the bus should simply board the
bus together.
If seating is available after the regular membership deadline, additional seats may be
purchased at the guest price on a first-come, first-served basis. Phone registrations will not be
accepted.
In the event that demand exceeds available seating, a drawing will be used. All enrollments
received in the Corporate Activities Office, SA-1, by noon or the Corporate South Activities
Office, K-1, by 1 p.m. on the close date are eligible for the drawing. Enrollments received after
the close date will be processed, space permitting, or placed on a waiting list. You will be
notified by email of your status.
Once you are enrolled for a bus trip or are notified that you have been placed on a waiting list,
you cannot change from one trip to another. If you wish to be added to another trip, you
must complete an additional enrollment form and check, and mail to the Activities Office.
In the past few years, the majority of people who have been placed on a waiting list for the
Holiday Shopping Trips have been able to go. Please do not panic when you are placed
on a waiting list. Cancellations do occur, and we will do our best to accommodate everyone
interested in going on these shopping trips.
In the event of a cancellation, please call the Activities Office. If there is a waiting
list and your seat is resold, your money will be reimbursed. If there is not a wait list, your
money will not be reimbursed. In order to maintain our records and a degree of fairness, do
not sell your seats to a co-worker. The Activities Staff will handle all transactions. The
Activities Office must be informed of all bus rider changes. Failure to comply with these rules
may result in a board decision to restrict your from future bus trips.
Chicago Loop
Michigan Avenue is truly a magnificent mile, boasting the hottest fashions and accessories in
Chicago! Discover the many stores along Michigan Avenue, see a theater show, or spend the
day at one of the museums. The day is yours to enjoy with the many opportunities the city has
to offer.
For the Saturday, December 10th bus trip, participants will depart from Corporate at
7:30 a.m. and be dropped off at the Prudential Building around 10:00 a.m. Buses will depart
for the return trip at 5:30 p.m. Contact Vicki Allen at 735-2037 with questions.
WOODFIELD MALL TRIPS
Welcome to Woodfield Mall, the biggest and best one-stop location for fashion selection in
Chicago. With over 285 of the finest stores, restaurants, and service facilities, you can be sure
you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for! Many department stores are housed in this
complex, including: Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Nike Store, The Disney Store, Ann Taylor,
Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, and Cache. Participants will be dropped off on the Lower
Level near JC Penney’s.
For the Wednesday, November 9th bus trip, participants will depart from the OAB
parking lot at 7:30 a.m. and be dropped off at the mall around 10:00 a.m. Buses will depart
for the return trip at 6:00 p.m. Contact Barbi Probus at 766-1491 with questions.
For the Saturday, November 19th bus trip, participants will depart from Corporate at
7:30 a.m. and be dropped at the mall around 10:00 a.m. Buses will depart for the return trip
