ABOUT CREATIVE KITCHEN
Creative Kitchen is a small creative studio based in San Francisco. We are internet makers, creative strategists and content creators.
We strive to build and curate meaningful digital worlds by relying on our years of collective experience in the web, print, and user experience
fields to create innovative solutions for our clients.
We work with global brands, bite-sized startups and just about everything in between. The web is our playground but we know the real
world too. We create content and technology that connects people, and more importantly, gives people something meaningful to connect
about. If it can live in digital space, we can create it. Our design and technology teams work in tandem to create highly polished experiences
for the browser and mobile devices, for screens large or small.
Everything we make begins with a healthy dose of strategy. As things take shape, we align and evolve the thinking endlessly. Since content
lies at the heart of everything we make, we conceptualize and create the content before we push a pixel or write a single line of code.
Our insight and strategic consulting delivers a targeted result that propels each client’s business efforts. Our multi-disciplinary team of
experts is dedicated to producing outstanding online solutions. The result is a solid brand identity, communication and interactive
experience that speaks to your audience and achieves measurable results.

join with other like minded people to work on civil right initiatives, or make an impact by assisting those in dire need. The scope of people
who are part of this demographic is very wide, but the common denominator amongst LGBT’s target audience is that they all share a similar

CMS INTEGRATION
One of the features LGBT’s representatives wanted to see in the new website was the possibility of
using a Content Management System (CMS) for streamlining the process of updating content. After
careful consideration, Creative Kitchen will be integrating an installation of Wordpress into the backend
of the new LGBT site. There are many excellent CMSes available, but considering the relatively modest
needs of LGBT’s potential content and update schedule, we feel very confident that Wordpress is the
best solution - a prefect balance of stability, features, and ease of use.
Some of the features we find will be of benefit to the new site:
• Full W3C Web Standards compliance • Multiple authors/User Management
• Comments (with moderation capabilities) • RSS Feeds
• Spam Protection • Support for all types of multimedia
• User Registration & Permission Levels • Archiving and Search functions
• Password Protected Posts • Template and File Editor
• Strong typographical capabilities • Extensive database of plugins
• Excellent social media integration

CMS INTEGRATION
Creating and updating content using Wordpress is very simple.
The next two pages highlight what you can expect from Word-
press’s built-in text editor and file manager. Images, audio, and
video files are all easily managed and organized through the
simple and secure web-based interface. New content cat-
egories can be created with just a few clicks, and posts can
even be published in the future. Its flexibility will allow LGBT to
customize the blog/website to match their needs, while keep-
ing the learning curve for its authors to a minimum.

USABILITY PLAN
Creative Kitchen strongly believes in conducting multiple phases of usability testing usability testing to determine if the final product meets
the user expectations and needs, as well as delivering a product that is more intuitive to use. It is an effective method of identifying design
errors at an early stage in development, when system functionalities are still in basic form, or not yet implemented. As errors are identified,
appropriate solutions have to be developed. At this stage, changes are easier to less expensive to implement.
Effective usability testing is not a one-time effort, but continuous process throughout the system development cycle. To do this, Creative
Kitchen incorporates different methods of testing at key points in the production process. These are some of the techniques and technolo-
gies we employ during our testing phases:
• Task Analysis • Rapid Paper Prototyping
• Questionnaires/Interviews • Hi-Fidelity Prototyping
• Focus Groups • Remote User Testing
• Personas • User Click Tracking
• Cognitive Walkthroughs • Heatmaps
• Heuristic Review • Eye Tracking
36 CREATIVE KITCHEN | San Francisco LGBT Community Center Web Redesign Proposal
MARKETING INITIATIVE
Creative Kitchen recognizes the importance of organizations maximizing their exposure. This drives traffic to a company’s website or
business as well as increases the public’s overall awareness of the organization. In today’s ever-evolving digital age, on online presence is
not only preferred, but also essential. However, it is also important to incorporate more traditional means of advertising to complete
the overall marketing plan. To complement LGBT’s official website, Creative Kitchen will be creating a marketing campaign utilizing the
following target mediums:
• Web Banners
• Mobile Ads/Devices
• Billboards
• Street Kiosks/Bus Stops
• Postal Mailer
The marketing plan aims to create both a buzz and serve as an introduction to the LGBT Community Center, with the intent of making the
organization a household name.
