Meet the Coaches
Head Coach Ryan Angel
Ryan Angel begins his second season as the head
women’s lacrosse coach at Rhode Island College.
Angel also serves as the head women’s soccer coach at
RIC.
In his first season at the helm last spring, Angel
guided RIC’s women's lacrosse team to a 3-10 mark.
The Anchorwomen set single-season recor ds in virtu-
ally every offensive category under his tutelage.
Angel was formerly an assistant men’s soccer
coach at Bryant College during the 2000 season. Prior
to his work with the Bulldogs, Angel was the head
women’s soccer coach at Salve Regina University during the 1998 campaign. He was an assis-
tant boy’s soccer coach at Portsmouth High School during the 1997 and 2001 seasons.
He was a NSCAA High School All-American and the Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the
ear
Y during his high school career at Portsmouth High School. He played collegiate soccer for
one season while attending Central Connecticut State University in 1993-94.
Angel is a 1997 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, earning a bachelor’s degree in
English.
He is single and resides in Middletown, Rhode Island.
Assistant Coach Laurie Rizzotti
Laurie Rizzotti begins her first season as the assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Rhode
Island College. She assists head coach Ryan Angel with all phases of RIC’s women’s lacrosse
program including recruiting, scouting, administering practices and game coaching.
Rizzotti concluded an outstanding four-year career in women’s lacrosse at Salve Regina
University in 2003, culminating with her selection as team MVP. She is the Seahawks all-time
leader in a ssists and point s, and second in goals. She was the Commonwealth Coast
Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2000 and also picked up First Team All-CCC hon-
ors that same season. Rizzotti was a Second Team All-CCC selection in 2001 and 2002.
She also played women’s soccer at SRU in 1999 and 2000. Rizzotti earned a bachelor’s
degree in administration of justice from Salve Regina University in 2003.
A native of Canton, Massachusetts, Rizzotti is single and currently resides in Newport,
Rhode Island. In addition to her coaching duties, she is working on her master’s degree in
administration of justice at Salve Regina.
