Thinking Ahead To Lose Weight
How after do you find yourself stressed out, tired, overworked with little time to eat a meal? Each time that
you find yourself in this situation you are likely to be so desperate to eat, you will cave and eat anything.
Often times we are faced with this situation and the decisions we often make while stressed out are usually
the ones we will most like regret later on in the day.
After that cheeseburger and fries that you scarf down or pizza you shovel in without even tasting or enjoying
you will likely feel worse than you did before you make the decision to have them and eat them so quickly.
This is always your next step, but instead of thinking just to your next step as in "I need to eat, I will eat
anything" try thinking another step past that, how will you feel after you choose to make a better decision?
When we just think about what is in front of us and are reactionary to stress and hunger chances are we will
make the quickest decision that will comfort us. These decisions often times keep us from our weight loss
and nutritional goals. This goes for fitness goals as well.
At the end of the work day, when you still have tons to do at home or with the kids its normal to want to just
sit on the couch and watch TV. You have to decide while you're not in the mood to exercise, to do just that:
exercise. When you're in that mode chances are you will not want to exercise, you will want to rest.
When these situations arises it is more beneficial to your goals to get past the next step of "resting" or
"eating" and making a real decision about what action will bring you to your goals. Will watching TV get
you in shape? No. Exercising even when you are tired and remembering that every time you are stressed will
help you in the long run.
Being tired, stressed and feeling low will always be factors in our lives from time to time, but being
determined and seeing the bigger picture will help you stay committed to your goals long term. The big
picture is totally personal, what inspires and motives you will help you fight through to the next steps and
following through with the actions to achieve your goals.
When you find ways to deal with stressful situations that also bring your closer to your goals, your self-
confidence will soar. The more you get past the day to day humps of life and preserver, the stronger you will
become. Putting your health first is not selfish it is smart. Taking pride in who you are and who you want to
become will allow you to gain control over your health allowing you to make better decisions.
Consistency is key when reaching our goals and helps us to envision how wonderful it feels when you work
hard to make something happen. Find ways to inspire and motivate yourself to make choosing healthier
actions a lot easier. Each time you choose a healthier action write it down, over time you will see all of your
accomplishments add up and that in itself is motivation to keep going.
