PALM BOWL



The 2nd Annual Palm Bowl kicked off the NBW games pitting the Georgia Xtreme

against the Orlando Rage. Orlando started the scoring on a 35 yd field goal by

Michael Kidd and the Rage led at the end of the 1st qtr. 3 to 0. Xtreme QB

Anthony Wynn hooked up with WR Diego Willingham on an 8 yd TD pass in the

2nd qtr. followed by a 2 pt conversion via QB sneak and the Xtreme took the lead 8

to 3. The Wynn to Willingham combo hooked up once more for a 22 yd TD strike

with the 2 pt. conversion pass falling incomplete and Georgia finished the half

with a 14 to 3 lead. QB Wynn dove in from 1 yd out at 6:21 of the 3rd period

followed by a missed conversion as the Xtreme finished 3 qtrs. with a 20 to 3

margin. The Rage ended the scoring with a 2 pt. “Team” safety in the 4th period

and the Xtreme prevailed by the final score of 20 to 5.

FLORIDA BOWL



The 3rd Annual Florida Bowl got off to a slow start with a 0 to 0 1st qtr between the

Lowell Nor’Easter and the Home hosts the Fort Pierce Fire. The Fire “ignited” in

the 2nd qtr. With 3 scores. QB Tommy Share hit WR Harold Davis with a 3 yd. TD

pass. PK Fabrizio Sciacca made the PAT. Sciacca followed 5 minutes later with a

51 yd. FG and the combination of Share to Davis struck on a 14 yd pass with

Sciacca’s PAT making the score at the half Fire 17 and Nor’Easter 0. Share

connected with WR Randall Lundy in the 3rd qtr. To close out the scoring giving

the Fire a 24 to 0 shutout victory over the Nor’Easter.

NORTH AMERICAN BOWL-USFA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP



This game was the USFA National Championship Game and DEFENSE dominated

the match-up between the defending Champion Brooklyn Mariners and the

undefeated 19 & 0 Prince William Monarchs of Virginia. After a scoreless 1st

quarter, the Monarchs got on the board with a 21 yard TD pass from # 1 QB Darryl

Overton to # 5 WR Kiki Reynolds in the 2nd stanza. From that point on it was

DEFENSE – DEFENSE – DEFENSE from both squads. The Mariners challenged with

a 1st and goal from the Monarch’s 6 yd. line in the 4th period, but a stingy scrappy

Monarch’s Defense turned them back as the Monarchs closed out their perfect

season 20 to 0 with a 6 to 0 win and the National Football Events National

Championship Title.

ORANGE BLOSSOM BOWL



The inaugural Orange Blossom Bowl was the highest scoring game of National

Bowl Weekend. Two Florida teams, the Ocala Peppers and the St. Petersburg

Sharks, met in this Sunshine state match-up. The Sharks bit first on a 1st qtr. 5

yard run by # 22 RB Hassan Lane and led at the end of the qtr. 6 to 0. The Sharks

went on a 26 point 2nd qtr. scoring frenzy with 26 points. # 11 QB Nick Kirby hit #

35 WR Phillip Webster on a 65 yd strike followed by a Kirby to Webster 2 pt.

conversion pass. # 22 RB Hassan Lane got back into the action with 2 TD jaunts of

29 and 13 yards and # 34 RB Charles McKinnon dove in from the 1 to close out the

1st half with the Sharks at 32 and the Peppers 0. After a scoreless 3rd qtr. , the

Peppers finally reached paydirt in the 4th period on a 25 yd TD pass from # 10 QB

Tee Kennedy to # 15 WR Thomas Scott. The Sharks answered with two final

scores, as # 11 QB Nick Kirby found # 35 WR Phillip Webster for a 23 yd TD strike

and # 82 WR Mike Butler for the 2 pt. conversion followed by a Kirby TD strike to

# 10 WR Josh McKinnon and 2 pt. conversion to # 83 WR Jerome Moten. The

final score…..ST. Petersburg Sharks 48 and the Ocala Peppers 6.

TREASURE COAST BOWL – THE NFE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME



This game pitted the Monroe Co. Sting of Rochester, N.Y against the Atlanta Prime

of Atlanta, Georgia for the NFE National Championship. The Sting, stung first in

the first qtr. on a 28 yd. TD run by # 45 RB Brent Brady. # 80 PK John Granchelli

made the PAT and Monroe County led 7 to 0 in the 1st quarter. Sting QB # 2 Doby

Howard was knocked out of the game with a severley bruised thigh in the 2nd qtr.

and the half ended with the same result, Sting 7 and Prime 0. Backup QB # 83

Willie Givens of the Sting took charge in the 3rd period when he hit # 11 WR

Bernard Williams with an 18 yard TD strike. # 80 PK Granchelli made the PAT and

the sting led 14 to 0 going into the 4th quarter. # 83 QB Givens took off on a QB

counter and exploded for a 53 yard TD jaunt. Granchelli’s PAT was good and the

Sting led 21 to 0. Granchelli closed out the scoring with 1:00 minute remaining as

he booted a 36 yd FG and the Sting prevailed over the Prime with a 24 to 0

shutout and jubilantly claimed the NFE National Championship Title.
