How to keep up with the 2011
FIRST Competitions
A guide by Keaton Mantz
iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad
(This was done with the 2010 version, which can be used to walk through the steps of this
guide to make sure you’re doing it right.)
Step 1:
Turn on your iDevice and open the App Store
Step 2:
From there, go to Search (On the bottom) and search for “FRC Tracker”.
Note: At the time of this writing, the 2011 version of FRC Tracker is still awaiting Apple approval. It was
rd
submitted on February 23 .
Step 3:
Install the app by tapping its name in the app store then tapping “Install” (A green
button)
Step 4:
Launch the FRC Tracker app by tapping the icon on your home screen.
Step 5:
Go to “Tools” (On the bottom of the FRC Tracker app) and tap the first “now”.
(Below Update from @frcfms via Twitter).
Step 6:
Go to the “Events” tab and choose the event you’d like to view. From there, tap
“Match Results” for up to date results.
Notes: When you want to update match results, you need to follow step 5 again. This will likely be a fixed
bug in the 2011 version.
iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad
(I do not own a droid, so please correct me if I make mistakes.)
Step 1:
Turn on your device and open the Android Market
Step 2:
Use the search function to search for “FRC Spyder” and install it.
Step 3:
Run the app, and (unfortunately) that’s all I can help with. My guess is it will auto
update the matches, and then allow you to view them.
Watching Matches on your Computer
Step 1:
Open your favorite internet browser and go to http://www.crystalthunder.us/,
which is where team 2771, Code Red Robotics, broadcasts the competitions.
Alternatively, go to http://www.coderedrobotics.com/ and click the “Live Webcast”
button.
Step 2:
From here, there should be links to the current competitions. The links won’t be up
until the date of the competitions.
Step 3:
You should be able to stream the competitions! To watch Team RUSH, tune in to
Kettering, West Michigan, and hopefully the Michigan State Championship!
