a. Allows you to view heading rows or heading columns or other rows and columns as
needed.

a. When you have a large worksheet and you wish to see data in columns or rows that are
not currently viewable at the same time.

i. Decide which cells to unlock.
ii. Protect the remaining cells
1. Remember your password if you set one. If you forget, there are no
electronic means to recover the password.
4. Printing large worksheets
a. Determine page breaks.
b. You can change the page orientation if needed.
c. You can print a selection by highlighting the selection.
d. You can set up the print areas in the page setup. This allows you repeat headings on
separate pages.

d. Sorting a table means alphabetizing or putting something in numeric order.

11. Sorting in ascending order means either sorting in A-Z order (with text) or from highest to

12. A multilevel sort is when you sort on at least two fields.
a. Example, sort first by last name and then if you have 2 identical last names, sort by first

13. Filtering means looking for certain records in a table. For example, given a large table of all
students currently attending WNMU, you might wish to find all students living in Eckles Hall.
14. There are several filter tools in Excel.
15. A summary report computes subtotals for groups of records.
