Character Color Analysis
You are going to complete a color analysis of one character from The Great Gatsby. Your analysis will include the
following items: Color Chart, Color Mandala, and Essay. Below you will find instructions for completing each of the
parts to this project. The project is due by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH at the end of your class period. NO LATE OR
EMAILED PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
We are going to spend a great deal of time working on this project in class. Below you will see the schedule for working
on this project. If you use your time wisely in class, you will not have to work on this at home. So, don’t stress about it
and be sure to breathe. I am not going to leave you behind with the project. I will walk you through it step by step!

Color Chart
You are to complete an analysis of five characters from the novel. This should be completed on the color chart we created
in class. All information must be completed for each character in order to receive credit for this portion of the assignment.
Color Mandala
You will choose one character to complete this portion of the assignment. Using the mandala of your choice, you are to
color the mandala so that it represents the character you have selected. Only the colors outlined on your color chart can be
used on your mandala.
Essay
Using the character chosen for your mandala, you are to write an essay exploring the colors associated with your
character of choice and what those colors mean. You must include specifics from the movie to support your ideas. You
will have at least on specific detail from the movie per body paragraph.
