Wellbeing in the Workplace is
connected to Wellbeing in the Community.
Businesses and organisations play a vital, potentially
pivotal role in promoting wellness in the workplace
and ultimately in the community. It does not matter where
the problem may have started; in the end it is business
productivity that is at risk.
The purpose of this conference is to provide practical and
sustainable tools for the positive development of your
business. Further to this, Industry Leaders, Managers,
HR Practitioners and OHS Practitioners are provided
with tools, tips and techniques for sustainable workplace
resilience practise. The aim is for you to leave with a
greater understanding of a whole of health perspective when
considering the health and welfare of employees.

Guest Speakers
Speaker profiles
Glenn
Key Note Speaker - Glenn Wheatley Wheatley
Bouncing Back in Corporate Australia
Facing
the Music
For more than four decades Glenn Wheatley has been known on the Australian music scene as
both the bass player of the 1960’s pop group The Master’s Apprentices, and as the successful
music manager of John Farnham, Little River Band and Delta Goodrem. He was also one of the
forefathers of FM radio in Australia, founding EON FM in 1980 and later establishing the Triple M network.
In a global industry that is fraught with peril and well placed traps, Glenn has demonstrated over and again the resilience
and fortitude that is required to remain as a principle patron of his industry. Told with candor, courage, and nods to his glory
days, this is Glenn’s story of going from entertainment magnate to sweeping a prison factory floor, and how he has rebuilt
his life under the scrutiny of the public eye.
Tino Guglielmo
Resilience at Board Level
Tino Guglielmo is a recognised petroleum executive in South Australia with 30 years experience both
internationally and domestically. He has served as Chief Executive Officer for and ASX listed company
for over seven years. He has had extensive experience at Board level with Government advisory
panels, a peak industry body and a private school. He is currently a consultant to the energy sector
and involved in the IPO of new Australian oil and gas company. He holds a Mechanical Engineering
degree from the University of South Australia, a Company Director’s Diploma and a Graduate Certificate in Management
Psychology from the Charles Sturt University.
Tino will examine the potential causes of stressors in the boardroom, its impact on both board and individual effectiveness.
He will outline strategies to build resilience to assist the disaffected individuals to maintain effectiveness in a potentially
difficult environment.
Lindy Powell QC
Glass Ceiling Resilience
Having practised law since her admission to the Bar in 1973, Lindy has been exposed to work in
the law business as an employer, a partner in a middle-sized firm, the Director of a Government
instrumentality employing more than 150 lawyers and support staff, the leader of her professional
body and many years at the independent bar.
The role that each participant plays in the legal team is crucial. Because everyone needs to be
performing at his or her best, we have to look after each other through the process. Every legal matter is like a little
microcosm of intense effort. They each have their beginning, their process and their end, playing out over differing
time frames.
One thing that Lindy has learnt from each of these individual matters, no matter how short or long, is the importance of all
who work together in the legal team being supported by each other and supportive of each other. That support must be
both professional and personal if the best is to be achieved for the client.
All the participants have to withstand difficult conditions. If those about them don’t recognise those difficulties and give
assistance to cope with them, then the proper and just result is less likely to occur.
Professor Maureen Dollard
Corporate Strategy
Maureen is Director of the Centre for Applied Psychological Research and is Foundation Director
of the Work and Stress Research Group at the University of South Australia. She is an occupational
health psychologist and member of the College of Organisational Psychology of the Australian
Psychological Association.
Her research and consultancy is in the area of work stress and she holds a PhD on the topic. She
has worked with human service workers, correctional officers, Salvation Army officers, call centre workers, ambulance
officers, nurses, farmers and police officers, and has developed best practice models in psychological injury prevention and
management (Vic Workcover; NSW Workcover; NOHSC; Office for the Commission of Public Employment, SA).
Maureen will explore the theory that corporations are stealing the libido. Evidence is presented from the Australian
Workplace Barometer study examining workplace risks (e.g. psychosocial safety climate, bullying, work pressure, working
hours, low control), health status and the relationship between them, in Australian workplaces.
Gideon King
Mind Mapping Techniques and Strategies

required, and the benefit that will have to the project goals;
- improve idea generation, problem solving, decision making, communication, and presentations.
