					                                           Dress Code

  Blessed Sacrament School requires that all students follow the uniform and dress code
  rules.
  If a student is not dressed appropriately, his/her parents will be called to bring appropriate
  clothes to school for the student. The Principal has the right to make the final
  determination as to what is appropriate.
             •   No coats or non-uniform sweaters or sweatshirts worn in class
             •   No hats worn indoors. Hats must be worn with the brim facing forward,
                 knit hats can only be worn in winter months
             •   Polo shirts may be untucked but cannot go below pleat on skirt or where
                 pocket meets seam on shorts or pants
             •   Uniform gray crewneck sweatshirts may be worn indoors (depending on
                 temperature) with polo collar outside the sweatshirt
             •   Blessed Sacrament hooded sweatshirts may be worn as outerwear and in
                 school on P.E. days. Uniform t-shirt must always be worn under the
                 sweatshirts.
             •   No symbols on clothing that are inconsistent with our Catholic mission
             •   Outerwear may not display the names of bands, alcohol, or tobacco
             •   Belts must be solid brown or solid black with no designs or decorations
             •   No boots (including: UGGS, work boots, mocs or hikers) may be worn all
                     day
             •   Pants must be worn on the hips and cannot show undergarments.
             •   No tattoos – permanent or temporary

A. UNIFORM GUIDELINES K-8
         * For the 2011-2012 school year, only our “new logo” with the cross is
         acceptable.
         * For the 2011-2012 school year, students may wear their current uniform
         pants/shorts and gym wear that may be from our former uniform company.
         All new purchases must be made through DONNELLY’S as only Donnelly’s
         uniforms will be acceptable for the 2012-2013 school year.
         * On mass days all students must wear FULL DRESS UNIFORM. All boys
         in Kindergarten-Grade 8 must wear pants and all girls in Kindergarten-
         Grade 8 must wear their skirt/jumper. (Leggings may be worn on mass days)
         Preschool students wear their regular school uniform on mass days.

     Boys K-8
        • Khaki uniform pants purchased at Donnelly’s
        • Green polo shirt with school logo
   •      Dark green sweater only with white turtleneck and pants (v-neck, crewneck,
          sweater vest) turtleneck may not be worn alone
   •      Dark green “letterman” 2 pocket sweater 5-8
   •      Dark green fleece vest with school logo K-8 (with white turtleneck and pants
          only)
   Sneakers:       Any solid colors (ex. solid red & solid white or solid black & solid
                   grey), no light or wheels, no writing, drawings, patterns or
                   design/decorations. No distressed/frayed or in poor condition. Sneaker
                   logos such as Nike, New Balance, etc. are fine. (laces: any solid color, both
                   shoes must have matching laces) Sneakers            must be a matching
                   identical pair
   Socks:          White, black, or tan socks (top of sock must be able to be seen)




Girls (K-8)
   • Plaid uniform jumper (Gr. K-4) with white princess collar blouse
   • Plaid uniform kilt or pleated skirt (Gr. 5-8) (must touch the top of kneecap)
       with grey polo shirt with school logo
   • Crewneck cardigan button-down (Preschool-8), V-neck “letterman” 2 pocket
       sweater (5-8 only)
   • Dark green fleece vest, sweater vest, crewneck pullover, v-neck pullover with
       school logo K-4 (with white turtleneck and pants only)
   Sneakers:       Any solid colors (ex. solid red & solid white or solid black & solid
                   grey), no lights or wheels, no writing, drawings, patterns or
                   design/decorations. No distressed/frayed or in poor condition. Sneaker
                   logos such as Nike, New Balance, etc. are fine. (laces: any solid color, both
                   shoes must have matching laces) Sneakers            must be a matching

   Socks:          Dark green or gray knee socks; white ankle socks (top of sock must
be able             to be seen)
                   Dark green or gray tights
Winter Option (Girls K-4): November 15 through April 1 (Girls MUST wear their
full dress uniform from Oct. 15 until Nov. 15 and then have the Winter Option)
                       •   Khaki uniform pants purchased at Donnelly’s (K-4)
                       •   Long sleeve green polo with school logo (K-4) (worn with
                           pants)
                       •   White turtleneck under green sweater options or with vest.
                           Turtleneck may not be worn alone. (K-4)
   *Leggings may be worn under skirt/jumper Oct. 15th through May 1st (worn all
   day) Grades K-8
Summer Options (Boys K-8 and Girls K-4): First day of school through October
15 and May 1 through the last day of school (Girls MUST wear their full dress
uniform from April 1 until May 1 and then have the Summer Option)
                     •   Khaki uniform shorts (no more than 2 inches above knee)
                         purchased at Donnelly’s (Boys K-8, Girls K-4)
                     •   Green polo with school logo (Boys K-8, Girls K-4)
                     •   Sneakers – (see guidelines)
                     •   White ankle socks



Preschool Uniforms

BOYS:     August 31-October 15          Micromesh shorts w/ logo
                                        t-shirt w/ logo
          After October 15-May 1        Sweatpants hem bottom w/ logo
                                        long or short sleeve t-shirt w/ logo
          After May 1-end of school     Micromesh shorts w/ logo

*Preschool girls DO NOT wear tights. Bike shorts or leggings must be worn
according to dates listed above.
*Preschool girls wear their knit jumper on physical education day.
*All Preschool students may wear the Blessed Sacrament logo crewneck sweatshirt
over their tee shirt or knit jumper in school if they are cold. (cannot be worn as
outerwear and inside building on same day)
*Preschool girls may also wear the crewneck cardigan sweater w/logo
*All items listed above must be purchased through Donnelly’s Clothing
*On mass days, preschool students wear their usual daily uniform.
Sneakers: All preschool students must wear sneakers. Sneakers must be tie or Velcro
           closure and can be any color. No light up sneakers, wheelie sneakers, or
           sneakers that would be a distraction in school.
           Rain boots and Snow boots may be worn when necessary, but students
           must bring their sneakers with them or keep an extra pair at school to
           change into each day.
Socks: (Boys & Girls) White ankle socks (purchased anywhere)




Boys and Girls (Preschool - 8th grade)
   • Socks must be able to be seen
   • Uniforms must be clean without stains, well fitting, and in good repair
   • Uniforms must fit appropriately. Pants should not be baggy; skirts must touch
      the top of kneecap
   • All polos must have the current school logo and be purchased at Donnelly’s
   • Only plain white shirts and undergarments may be worn under uniform shirts
   • Belts must be solid brown or solid black

***Only uniform pants and shorts purchased at Donnelly’s are allowed as of the
   2012-2013 school year*** (There will be a Donnelly’s label on the garment)




Physical Education Classes (K-8) All K-8 students must wear the official gym
clothing and athletic sneakers on P.E. Days. These items must be purchased from
Donnelly’s.

P.E. Uniform (boys and girls)
   • Grey t-shirt with school logo (long or short sleeve)
   • Grey sweatshirt (crew or hoodie) with school logo (P.E. uniform t-shirt must
      be worn under sweatshirt)
   • Green shorts with logo-must be an appropriate length (not more than 2 inches
      above knee)
   • Green sweatpants (K-4 with logo) (5-8 with Blessed Sacrament down the
      side)
   • White socks (must be able to be seen)
P.E. Uniforms must be clean and fit appropriately. Torn P.E. windpants/sweatpants
must be replaced and cannot be worn. If a student has a pair of windpants in good
condition, they may be worn during 2011-2012. All new purchases must be
sweatpants purchased through Donnelly’s. Windpants will not be an option for 2012-
2013.
*Preschool students wear their regular uniforms on Phys.Ed days
*Blessed Sacrament does NOT collect used uniforms. Parents are encouraged to
donate/exchange unneeded uniforms with friends and classmates.
B. HAIR/JEWELRY
           Hair styles are to be modest. Bangs must be cut no longer than the bottom of the
   eyebrows. Hair must be away from the face. Girls’ hair must be fashioned so it is out of
   their eyes. Neither girls nor boys may have their hair chemically colored or treated.
   Mohawks, stenciling/designs and hair beading are not allowed.
           Boys may not have facial hair. Sideburns cannot go below the middle of the ear.
           Boys may not wear earrings to school or to school events. Girls may wear one
   single stud earring in each ear OR one single hoop in each ear that is no larger than one
   half of an inch long or wide. Hoops may NOT be worn on Phys.Ed. day. Wire earrings or
   dangling/hanging earring of any kind are not allowed. No more than one bracelet or
   watch per arm. Bracelets/watches should not impede ability to write or distract students
   from learning. Hair clips, headbands, barrettes, and hair ties should match or coordinate
   with uniform and not be large or distracting.

C. MAKE-UP
           Students in grades preschool through sixth grade are not allowed to wear make-
   up of any kind. Girls in grades 7 & 8 may wear a very modest amount of natural
   looking make-up. Eye liner or dark colored make-up of any kind is not allowed. The
   Principal has the final discretionary note.

D. DRESS DOWN/UP DAY – Shorts may not be worn after Oct. 15th or before May 1st
          Clothing NOT permitted:
            •   No spandex bike shorts (under skirt/jumper only)
            •   No short shorts or mini skirts (no more than 2” above the top of the knee)
            •   No leotards or leggings worn alone
            •   No halter, spaghetti or strapless tops
            •   No bare midriff, crop tops, or low cut tops
            •   No see-through or revealing clothing
            •   No profanity, drug, alcohol or tobacco ads, or band names on clothing
            •   No torn or cut clothes or clothes with holes
            •   No baggy or tight clothes (including skinny jeans)
            •   No sandals, flip-flops or crocs

   Dress down may not take place on a day when we are attending Mass, having
   special visitors, or assemblies. This includes birthday dress down days. Please check
   with your teacher BEFORE dressing down.
   Students who do not follow the guidelines on dress down/up days, will not be able to
   participate in the next dress down/up day. Students may also receive a detention for
   not following dress up/down guidelines and a parent will have to bring a school
   uniform to school for the student to change into.
   Any student who does not bring in their charity donation on or before the dress
   down/up day, will not be able to participate in the next dress down/up day. Students
   must be responsible for bringing in the donation and are encouraged to EARN the
   donation.
E. FIELD TRIP ATTIRE
         The teacher/administration will decide what attire is appropriate based on the
     location and activities the students will be doing. Families will be notified in advance
     as to the dress code for field trips.

F. SCHOOL FUNCTIONS
       Appropriate dress is expected at all school functions regardless of time or place.
     When in doubt of what is appropriate, please check with teachers or the Principal.

G. LOST AND FOUND
          Please label all clothing so it can be reunited with its owner. Lost clothing and
  other items will be kept for a reasonable time. When not retrieved after this time, the
  clothing will be donated to charity or disposed of.
