All,
Ed held a Golf Tourney Committee meeting on 12 Jan 06 at COHF The following notes
document what was discussed and assigns tasks that must be done prior to the next committee
meeting.
Attendees: Ed Hanrahan, Rick Paradiso, Joe Panchick , Paul Diaczun, Ed Treese, Pat O’Donnel,
Mort White, Butch Zarn
Discussion:
- Paul D provided Rick P with figures to show how much Council had provided to charitable
activities over the last 24 months. Rick P will use to put together the sponsorship packets.
- Committee approved $95 as the entry fee
- Committee approved entry fee would include purchase of an embroidered golf shirt. Committee
decided that participant's name on the shirt would be a bridge too far. Also that the Broad Bay
Country Club logo was not what was desired. Rather, Paul would work with Dolphin to design a
crossed golf club and KoC logo with the words “First Annual KoC Golf Tournament” and date
above the logo. Paul would also get the final price for the shirts.
- Committee finalized the attached flyer (after email review)
- Paul D was meeting with the Golf Pro on 13 Jan to finalize if we need a liquor license given we
will be providing beer as part of the entry fee or if we can use the BBCC liscense and to discuss
size of signage for sponsor's sign (and any other rules they might have regarding signage)
- Agreed that a hole sponsor could purchase the sponsorship and a foursome for $600, thus
achieving a savings of $30
- Paul Diaczun agreed he would print out full council Database runs to include identifying where
everyone works to assist in assigning sponsorship contact and solicitation
- Committee decided to ask Joe Murray, Carl Weslowski, Dick Dietz and Bob Rogers to be the
Sponsorship Subcommittee. These retired folks would be given the responsibility to go around to
local businesses (with some exceptions as noted below) and “sell” sponsorships and solicit
prizes. Joe P and Ed H were going to approach these folks.
- Ken Hildebrand would be approached about drafting up a letter to be provided to sponsors for
tax purposes
- Committee decided no lunch would be provided during the tourney and that dinner would be a
simple BBQ fare. Mort would contact the folks who did his Navy tourney dinner and Pat would
contact Opie to see who could provide the best deal.
- Ed Hanrahan informed us Hall Motors would provide the hole in one auto, and at least one
sponsorship
- Committee agreed that sponsorship assignments would be done via assigning shopping
centers or areas to the various teams (subcommittee above and members of the main committee)
- Next meeting would be the held at 7:00 PM on the evening 19 Jan 06 at COHF
