Course Handout (Part II)

In addition to part I (General Handout for all courses appended to the time table) this portion gives

further specific details regarding the course.

Course No. : BIO C461

Course Title : Recombinant DNA Technology

1. Course Description : The course deals with theoretical aspects of recombinant DNA

manipulation. Emphasis will be plant on procedures to create chimeric molecular using examples

from actual experimented work. Vector designing, polymers chain reaction, invitio mulagenesed

cloning in prokaryote and unpatriotic vectors will be covered.

2. Scope and Objective : This course aims to introduce the principles of recombinant DNA

Technology. Representative types of cloning vectors will be surveyed along with techniques of

transferring the rDNA into host cells. PCR, in nitromolagansis and other advanced topics will be

covered.
