Target, Target, Target
“Differentiate your customers.
Find the group that’s most
profitable. Figure out how to
develop/advertise/reward this
group. Ignore the rest. Your
ads (and your products)
shouldn’t cater to the masses.
Your ads (and products) should
cater to the customers you’d
choose if you could choose your
customers.”

Magazines
Very targeted…makes cost per M
reached high, but you reach your
targeted audience
Monthly, Quarterly, Annual makes a
big difference as to how many times
you must buy an ad
A single annual ad in Where Alaska
& Yukon may reach more tourist
than multiple ads will in a monthly

Magazine Numbers
Many state magazines have very low
distribution numbers…but reach the
folks you want to reach…they may
be the best buy
Print media is required to give you
accurate numbers as to their
distribution and how
distributed…look at it
CPM = Cost per thousand “views” or
impressions is key to all media
ads…if they reach your targets
