Setup an Email Account
with gmail
Step One
• Move cursor to google search box in top
right corner of screen and click
• Type “gmail” in google search box
• Press enter key
Step Two
• Click “create an account”
• Move cursor to first box, click, and type
your first name
• Press the tab key
• Type your last name in the next box
• Press the tab key
Step Three
• Type your first and last name in the box
• Click the [check availability] button
• If red message appears, choose some numbers to
put at the end of your name
ex. your birthday, zip code
• Click the [check availability] button again
• When no red message appears, the user name is
good
• Press tab
Step Four
• Type an 8 digit code in the box (use 1 or 2
numbers as well as letters). Ex. Aa and your
birthday. It should be easy to remember.
• Press tab key and repeat the code
• Click the check in the box to deselect
• Repeat in the next box
• Press the tab key
Step Five
• Click on arrow on right side of box
• Scroll down menu to “Write my own
question” and double click.
• Write a question that is easy for you to
answer ex. “What is my mother’s maiden
name?”
• Press tab key
Step Six
• In the [recovery email] box type your partner’s
email address
• Press tab key
• Select United States for location
• Press tab key
• Type your birthday as shown
ex. [11/06/1981]
• Press tab key
Step Seven
• Type the code in the box. (You do not need to use
capitol letters.)
• Press tab key
• Click [I accept. Create my account]
If you see a red message, read it and follow the
directions. Correct your mistakes.
• Press [I accept. Create my account] again.
• Keep trying until you see the Congratulations
Page.
• Click “Show me my account.”
