Internet savvy Modi is the only Indian to be nominated for these awards. A member of the CM’s fan site ‘NamoLeague’ said, “Modi is quite net savvy and he regularly updates his social media profiles. He also has the highest fan following on twitter. It’s a matter of pride that he is the only non-American to be nominated for the awards.”

The Annual Mashable Awards is back for the 5th time, and people have already started

voting on various categories under Tech, Business, Entertainment and Social Media.



Love him or hate him, the fact is Gujarat‟s Chief Minister Mr. Modi is one of the

pivotal players in India today. Business giants like Tatas, Reliance, Maruti and

hundreds more have set up shop in Gujarat. Mr. Modi‟s tech savvy followers

have ensured a very visible presence in the online world.





Mashable is the largest independent news source dedicated to covering digital culture,

social media and technology. Mashable is among the top 3 sites in the world in its niche.

Mashable has now opened online voting for its 2011 Mashable Awards. In the 28

categories covering four content areas – Social Media, Tech, Business and

Entertainment, a number of international personalities have been nominated including

President Obama, Lady Gaga and Salman Rushdie.

There is only one Indian among the Mashable finalists. Among the must follow

politician on social media is Gujarat’s Chief Minister. It is very interesting to

find Narendra Modi, the Gujarat Chief Minister, nominated by Mashable for the

category of Must-follow Politician on Social Media award. This category honors

the readers’ choice for the politician who uses social media channels like

Twitter, Facebook, Youtube or Google+ at the most optimum level. While it is

not known how many votes Narendra Modi has gotten till now, the voting shall

be open to all until December 16th, 2011, and the winners shall be announced

on December 19th.

networking sites. Other six nominees in this category include US president Barack

Obama, Newark Mayor Cory Brooker, US presidential hopefuls Ron Paul and Herman

Cain, Governor of Louisiana Buddy Roemer and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.



Other politicians against whom Narendra Modi is competing are Cory Brooker, Buddy

Roemer, Ron Paul, Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders & Herman Cain.

in size and this slogan will travel to all states of this country and a day will come when

Ramshe Hindustan, Jitshe Hindustan(India shall play, India shall win) will be achieved,

said bollywood filmstar Akshay Kumar in his speech at Khel Mahakumbh 2011 inaugural

function in Vadodara. Akshay Kumar was special guest in this function. He sat with Chief

Minister Narendra Modi and watched the inaugural extravaganza of one-month long

Gujarat-wide sports festival with deep interest.



Akshay said,” I am an actor, I don’t know very well, how to give a speech, but I know

how to speak from heart.”



“You know how much Gujarat Chief Minister loves sports, and today this programme is

happening because of him. The matter to notice is that he has not only put his heart into

this sports festival but has also put his soul in it. I am very thankful to him for giving me

an opportunity to witness this initiative,” he said.
