INT. MODE MAGAZINE - BULLPEN - MORNING

Here is where you write your action such as...Betty walking
to her desk.

If you see a “”, double-click on it for some info. Now go
back in case you skipped the ones above.

INT. MODE MAGAZINE - DANIEL’S OFFICE - DAY

This template already has some of the frequent locations
loaded into SmartType.

Daniel is at his desk when Betty walks into his office.

Sound effects should be written in all caps. Betty SNEEZES.

                    BETTY
My name and several others are
          already loaded into SmartType as
          well as the locations.

                    DANIEL
That’s good, but I could really go
          for a latte.

You can also call attention to something by putting it in all
caps. Betty reaches in her bag and pulls out a LATTE.

                        ACT TWO

INT. MODE MAGAZINE - BULLPEN - DAY

When regular characters like Betty and Daniel enter the
scene, the names are in plain type. However, when a GUEST
CHARACTER is introduced, the names are in all caps.

                    AMANDA
I think my name should be in all
          caps.

                    BETTY
I think you should just be happy
that your name is loaded into the
          SmartType list already.

                     AMANDA
But once a guest character speaks,
won’t theirs be in the SmartType
          list also?

                    BETTY
Of course it will, which is why
          SmartType helps make formatting and
writing your script so easy. But
your name was in there first!

                    AMANDA
          Good point.

INT. MODE MAGAZINE - BREAK ROOM - DAY

Write some more great action here.

                    BETTY
And some more great dialogue, and
          write Acts 4, 5 and 6 and...
