Registration:
Registration will be at 8:30 am. to 9:15 am. at 200 South Main Street Akron, OH .
Competition begins at 9:30 am and ends 11:30 am. Judging and awards will be
announced at 12:30 at the carving site.Awards banquet immediately following event, all
carvers required to attend. Prizes and gifts will be handed out at the banquet.
We will supply:
Table
Chair
Display Tray
Cutting Board
Vegetables
Towel
5 gallon bucket for waste
Tooth picks and Skewers
Rules:
All carving must happen on site in the carving time allowed (2 Hours)
Must keep table clean and presentable to the public at all times. You are
Artists and professionals, so maintain a clean and organized area.
Must supply your own carving tools.
This is a freestyle event and you may carve anything you wish.
All cutting must be done on the cutting board provided.
You may only add toothpicks and skewers to display for stability.
They must not be visible in the final sculpture. All other elements
Of the display must be from fruits and vegetable provided.
Carvers will be able to see the mystery basket before registration upon
Arrival. This will give you time to plan so come early.
Sculpture must fit on the display tray provided.
Please dress as professionals, chefs jackets if possible.
Judges:
We will have five judges and we will drop the high and low scores
and take an average of the remaining 3 scores.

As a competitor, I hereby assign and grant the right and permission to copyright and/or use and/or publish
photographs of me which may be included in whole or part of composite or reproductions thereof for
publicity or advertising purposes.
Accordingly, I release and discharge the persons hosting/sponsoring the event, Home Grown
Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition, City of Akron and Elegant Ice
Creations Columbus, and persons acting for or on behalf of them, from any liability by virtue of
any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form that may occur or be
produced in the taking of said picture or in any processing thereof through completion of the
finished product. I have read this release and agree to abide by it.

The undersigned acknowledges that he/she has requested and made formal application for
participation in Home Grown Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition,
sponsored by City of Akron & Elegant Ice Creations Columbus understand that
participation in said competition will involve the use of knives and other articles of
equipment necessary to shape and sculpt vegetables and fruit. In consideration for and as
a condition of being permitted to participate for any purpose in Home Grown Saturday
Morning Vegetable Carving competition, the undersigned, for himself and personal
representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, agrees that he/she has or will, prior to
his/her participation in Home Grown Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition,
sponsored by City of Akron n & Elegant Ice Creations Columbus acknowledge that
he/she can fully participate in all areas the competition will encompass without
restriction, that he/she is fully aware of the responsibilities his/her participation will
require and the dangers wherein thereto, and does further warrant that his/her
participation constitutes an acknowledgment that he/she has inspected the location where
the competition is to be held and the equipment to be used and that both are safe and
reasonably suited for their intended purposes.
In addition, Home Grown Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition will not be
responsible for theft or damage to any personal property, tools, or equipment before,
during, or after Home Grown Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition.
Therefore, the undersigned hereby voluntarily releases, waives, discharges, and
covenants not to sue Home Grown Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition, City
of Akron, or Elegant Ice Creations Columbus, its officers, directors, employees, or
agents all for purposes herein referred to as Releases, from all liability to the undersigned,
his personal representative, assigns, heirs and next of kin for all loss or damage and any
claim or demands therefore, on account of injury to the person or property or resulting in
death of the undersigned whether caused by the negligence of the Releases or otherwise
from participation in the Home Grown Saturday Morning Vegetable Carving competition,
referred to above.
