Communication Technology Liz McKinlay 12E Introduction • There are many different ways of communication, the first type of communication was written this has now changed and there are many different ways to communicate, I will be looking at the different types of communication in this presentation and form my own personal views on which is the best and why. Links Introduction SMS Email Multimedia Audio Video Written Fax Conclusion Bibliography Bibliography SMS (Short message service) • Mobile phones can be used for screen based communication this is called text messaging. • Messages are entered using the phones keypad. • Text messages are sent between two mobile phones with SMS capabilities. Email • Email is written information that can be sent electronically usually via a computer network • Emails ca also send attachments such as pictures or videos • Email is very useful for communicating people in different parts of the world Multimedia • Multimedia uses multiple forms of information • It is seen as a more interesting way to communicate. • It is a faster way to communicate and is also eye catching. Audio • Audio is a type of communication that can be heard • It is usually a spoken language • It is a very efficient way of communicating as more information can be conveyed • There are different types of audio communication e.g. a doorbell this tells you that there is someone at the door. Video • Video communication is conveyed using moving images • It is generally more memorable than written communication. • It allows us to see what is happening at a specific time and place Written • Writing a letter was one of the first types of communication • Written communication is text based and it uses text to convey meaning • Letters are written or typed and then sent by the post Conclusion • From this presentation I have discovered that the best way for Mags to communicate would be either SMS because it is efficient and all the important fact that are needed can be but into a text. I also think that email would be a great way to communicate as is very quick, cheap and save the customers receiving mail through the post.
