when necessary, use words.”
St. Francis of Assisi

St. Therese of Lisieux
Inviting youth into a life-changing
relationship with Jesus Christ in the
power of the Holy Spirit through a call
to embrace the heart and mission of the
Church.
The Mission of the Conference is to
bring teens to a closer relationship with
Jesus Christ and to give them a deeper
understanding of the teachings of the
Church.
Mercy Crew: Mercy Crew is a 6-day young adult's mission of service for the
Steubenville on the Bayou Conference. The Young Adults come together for a retreat
experience on the Tuesday prior to the conference weekend to pray and worship
together and to share their experiences of faith. Then, that Thursday & Friday, the Crew
begins to prepare the conference site for the arrival of 3000 teens. Mercy Crew will
provide the "hands on" work throughout the weekend in various capacities to serve the
needs of the youth and those of the conference staff and volunteers. The conference
offers this opportunity to young adults as a way to transition from being a teen
participant to serving as an adult leader in the Church.
Applicants MUST:
1. Be 18-26 years of age
2. Have completed the annual Safe Environment Training within
your parish.
3. Have attended a previous Steubenville Youth Conference.
4. Must attend Mercy Crew activities Tuesday through Sunday
during the week of the conference.
What is it? Who is it for?
A dynamic Catholic leadership opportunity for teens
who are passionate about their Catholic faith, active
in their youth group, and are ready to step up to the
next level of leadership through evangelization and
discipleship training.
When is it?
This is a 5 day training that will run the week before
the Youth Conference; beginning Monday and ending
Friday afternoon when the participant will join back
with their group for the weekend youth conference.
What is the Share the Glory of Life Project?
Many of you have probably heard of the Share the
Glory project which is the project where we usually
pick a non-profit organization to give to, whether it
is clothes, food, shoes, or even monetary gifts. But
this year we decided to choose the Share the Glory
of Life Project. Whereas groups have previously
collected material donations prior to the
conference, we ask that your young people collect
prayers now for the success of this effort.
Why Share the Glory of Life Project?
Even though we are extremely thankful for all the generosity
the teens have contributed to the past Share the Glory
projects, we wanted to take it a little further and empower the
young people through knowledge and practical tools to
discern the best active response to God’s call to respect the
lives He has created. Our young people represent many
diverse communities in many different states across the
country. Imagine the impact of groups of youth returning
home and actively implementing what has been learned at
the conference regarding ways to RESPECT ALL LIFE, young
and old alike.

GROUP LEADERS, CHAPERONES,
PRAYER MINISTERS, AND FIRST AID
THE GROUP LEADERS & CHAPERONES ARE THE
PRIMARY MINISTERS TO THE TEENS.
These adults will make all major decisions:
Bringing the young person to first aid,
Bringing the young person out of a session,
Disciplining the young person, and/or anything else that should
come up.
Steubenville volunteers reserve the right to intervene if it is
determined that the safety of the young person is compromised.
Volunteers should never run across the arena, up the
stairs, or anywhere during sessions. This causes
concern in the teens and it is not necessary.
There are radios and cellular phones for all
chairpersons so it is never necessary to scream out a
name or to approach the person in haste; again, this
causes unnecessary concern in the teens.
The group leader should not serve as a
chaperone unless absolutely necessary.
Though group leaders have been counted as
chaperones in the past, it has become apparent
that group leaders should remain available to
take care of special problems or needs that may
arise during the conference weekend.

Luke 18:15-17
15People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him
touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked
them. 16But Jesus called the children to him and said,
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the
kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
Ephesians 6:10-17
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the
full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's
schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against
the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world
and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled
around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and
with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of
peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which
you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the
helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
God.
Psalm 89:23-29
23 I will crush his foes before him
and strike down his adversaries.
24 My faithful love will be with him,
and through my name his horn [a] will be exalted.
25 I will set his hand over the sea,
his right hand over the rivers.
26 He will call out to me, 'You are my Father,
my God, the Rock my Savior.'
27 I will also appoint him my firstborn,
the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28 I will maintain my love to him forever,
and my covenant with him will never fail.
29 I will establish his line forever,
his throne as long as the heavens endure.
Psalm 94:14-16
14 For the LORD will not reject his people;
he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
