Obtaining a Georgia State Drivers’ License
You may drive on your International Drivers’ License if you are going to be in this
country less than 12 months. If you are stopped you must show proof at the
time of the stop that you have been here less than 12 months.
You will need to go to the Georgia State Patrol Office on Highway 29 North to
take the written drivers test. The cost is $10 and you can walk in for this test.
You will then need to schedule the driving test. The cost of the driving test,
which is good for 5 years, is $20.
You will need to take the following documents with you:
Social Security Number or denial letter from the Social Security Office
Your current Passport
Your I-94 card with current stamp
Proof of residency in the state of Georgia
