Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 9-10 minutes Yield: 17 cookies 1/4 Ib (1 stick) unsalted butter 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp salt 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 oz grated milk chocolate bar (such as Hershey) 1 egg 3/4 to 1 cup all purpose flour (less flour = softer cookie) 1 1/4 cup rolled oats 3/4 cup walnuts-toasted Preheat oven to 3500 F. Place Silpat(r) or line cookie sheet with parchment. Using the steel blade pf a food processor, mix oatmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in food processor until it is powder-like. In a separate bowl, cream sugar, butter, egg and vanilla. Add nuts and chocolate chips and mix. Roll into golf-ball sized cookies or use a #20 scoop, placed 2" apart on cookie sheet, and flattened with spatula. Bake 9-10 min until tops slightly blonde. Cool on wire rack. [Mrs. Fields claims to have never sold her cookie recipe. An identical chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe is the "Neiman-Marcus two-fifty" recipe, an urban legend which is debunked at http://www.snopes.com/business/consumer/cookie.asp]
