NOTE : TO PLAY BACKUP GAME DISKS ON YOUR WII CONSOLE YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A
MOD CHIP FITTED!
HARDWARE
To be able to burn wii/gamecube game disks to your hdd on your pc you will need a "LG (GDR 8164b)
dvd-rom drive" or a GDR 8161, GDR 8162, GDR 8163. Nothing else will work.
Also a dvd burner and some good quality media dvd+r or dvd-r.
SOFTWARE
You will need to have .Net Framework 2.0 installed. Download - Here
You will also need Rawdump 2.0 installed. Download - Here
THE DUMP PROCESS
Once you have installed your drive and the software needed you are ready to start dumping the
wii/gamecube game disk to your hdd.
First open Rawdump 2.0.
Now select your LG dvd-rom drive and insert your wii/gamecube game disk.
When ready click "START DUMP".
NOTE - The dump will take about 2 1/2 hours to complete (If you think thats slow, it used to take 50
hours).
Once the dump is complete the .iso disk image will appear in the same folder as the Rawdump
program files as (Gametitle.iso) ready to be burned.
IMPORTANT - Check the .iso image size, it should be 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes) for a wii game
and 1.35 GB (1,459,978,240 bytes) for a gamecube game. If your image size is not the same as this
then redo the ripping process again to get the required file size.
THE BURN PROCESS
I will burn the .iso in Imgburn, which is freeware, but the author does accept donations ;) . Download -
HERE
Other programs can burn the .iso, so just use whatever you are comfortable with.
Right click the .iso image and open with "Imgburn", insert your blank media and select burn speed
2.4X. Burning at faster speeds has more chance of producing disk read errors.
Check the .iso image size again and click "start burn".
If all has gone well this screen should appear and you will have 1 backup of your original wii/gamecube
game disk.:tropthy:
