Kruse International’s 38th Annual Scottsdale Classic Car Auction and Expo to Feature Two Pebble
Beach Concours d’Elegance Winners Worth Over Half Million Each and Other Rare Vehicles
Scottsdale, AZ – Kruse International has had a spectacular beginning of 2009 with a record
breaking auction in Boca Raton, South Florida early January. It is now time to gear up for
even warmer airs for the Annual 38th Scottsdale Classic Car Auction and Expo to take place
in Phoenix, AZ during four days of unbelievable thrill. The sale promises to bring over one
thousand of the finest vehicles to cross the block during January 23rd through the 25th at
the popular Arizona State Fairgrounds.
One of the main feature cars of the sale is a very rare 1937 Cord Beverly Limo. This car is
not only a Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance winner, but it is also one of the first cars in
history to have front wheel drive. Cord, a synonym of success and innovation in the auto
industry, made just a little less than 3,000 vehicles during 1930 and 1937. A total of 1,146
1937 Cord 810/812 Beverly were sold before production stopped. The Supercharge Beverly
Cord was known to be the fastest car of its time. The company used the “any driver that
passes the Super-Charged Cord does so only with the Cord driver's permission" slogan to
promote the “coffin-nosed― style cars. This Cord Limo was commissioned by E.L Cord and is
one of three of its kind to ever be built.
Another Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance winner to be sold during the 38th Annual
Scottsdale Classic Car Auction and Expo is a 1912 Mitchell Brass Runabout. Mitchell Motor
Car Co. started producing vehicles in 1903 and run its last production in 1923. This 1912
Mitchell Brass being put at auction was made at a time that the Mitchell Co designed its
vehicles on a 130-inch wheelbase powered by a 60 horsepower 6-cylinder engine with a
charge gear, three speeds forward with reverse transmission. This was the highest
horsepower roadster built by Mitchell.
Other feature cars scheduled to cross the block during the Annual 38th Scottsdale Classic
Car Auction and Expo ia a very rare 1911 Renault Grand Tour Car with high horsepower
and one of only a handful in the world, a 1914 Queens Town Car with gas and electric
combo power one of only three known to exist, a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Fuellie
Convertible, a 1963 Ford Galaxie XL, a special built one of a kind 1952 Packard Woodie
Town and Country Convertible, a 1971 Dodge Charger R/T, and a 1971 Jaguar XKE Series
III.
Also in the auction block will be Jim Morinson’s 48-car collection. All cars will sell to the
highest bidder. Some on the highlights of his collection are a 1957 Ford Retractable, a 1931
Dirt Track Race Car, a 1939 Chevrolet Opera Coupe, 1951 Chevrolet Truck Pick-Up, 1931
Ford Speedster, a 1999 Plymouth Prowler, a 1999 Cobra Super Performance Coupe, and
