March, 2008 Dear Professor, I want to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Education Services Officer, Mr. Bill Keller, and introduce you to Hohenfels, Germany. This graduate program site is approximately nine years old and the response has been very exciting. Hohenfels is located in the country and travel to the more populated sites caused many of our degree candidates’ time and financial hardships. Our program is now expanded to offering the Master of Human Relations through The University of Oklahoma. Hohenfels, Germany is a quaint town with typical Bavarian farms, building structures and guesthouses known for authentic German cuisine. I sincerely hope that during your stay you will be able to visit some of our local attractions. I will arrange billeting for you on post at the Sunrise Lodge. During periods of high transition, especially the summer months, billeting may not be available. In that instance, I will arrange for a room at one of our local guesthouses. They are quite charming and have all the modern conveniences. Probably one of the advantages is that breakfast is included with their rooms. I look forward to meeting you. The community and students extend a warm welcome, and are very pleased that you’re coming to our remote post. Please email requests for any equipment you may need. An overhead projector and TV/VCR combination will be available in your classroom. I have a LCD projector for your use in the classroom. If you have any special requests, don’t hesitate to ask. We’ll keep in contact through email. Sincerely,
Benjamin Griffin

Arrival at Nuremburg Airport
PASSPORT CONTROL
If you are traveling from another country you must first go through passport control--Paßkontrolle Get in the correct line for NON-European Community passengers; have your passport ready. It is rarely needed, but have your orders (LOI) available also.
BAGGAGE CLAIM
Continue to follow the signs for Baggage Claim. An information board lists the arriving flights and the number of their baggage carousels.
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
After claiming your baggage, look for the Exit/Ausgang and Zoll/Customs signs. The Customs Clearance area has two lanes: Red and Green. Walk through the Green area since you will have nothing to declare.
SHUTTLE SERVICE TO BASE
Airline personnel will direct you through customs. Pick up your luggage and proceed out the glass doors. The Bambi Tours German driver will be at the door with an Oklahoma sign/professor's name. The van will bring you to the Hohenfels education center. The cost is $100 dollars and payment can be made after coming to the military post. Travel time to Hohenfels is 1 hours by shuttle. The distance is 80 km or 45ml.
TO CHANGE MONEY
If you have not brought German money with you and you think you will need some before you get to a bank in Hohenfels, there are money exchange counters and banks in the airport. The exchange rate will not be as good as at a military facility and you will be charged a commission, so exchange only what you think you will need before getting to a bank in Hohenfels. Self-service money machines are located near many exchange offices and banks.
