1. Building.
STRUCTURE Standard glazed barrel vault carwash enclosure supported on 6no. main columns
& 4no. door posts.
DIMENSIONS 10450mm x 5100mm main carwash external plan dimensions.
COLUMN SIZE 100*100 SHS main columns.
CLEAR HEIGHT 3200mm from datum.
FRAME STRUCTURE
Constructed from structural hollow section columns and rafters with paralell channel
eaves tie acting as rainwater gutter.
All material to be supplied in accordance with section properties of BS4 part 1 and BS4848 part 4.
The fabrication tolerances of all fabricated structural steelwork will be in accordance with the
National Structural Steelwork Specification, 3rd Edition. All hot rolled steel work to be hot dipped
galvanised after fabrication to EN ISO 1461 : 1999 80 microns zinc film thickness.Proprietary items
supplied in manufacturer standard finish.
FASCIAS 700mm deep non structural fascia, complete with high level radius corners and radius vertical
corner column cladding.
Manufactured from 1.5mm thick galvanised steel sheet, polyester powder coat finish to Sainsbury’s
Blue RAL 5002.
BARREL VAULT Purpose made low rise translucent barrel vault.
Constructed from 60*60 structural hollow section rafters spanning to a radius of 5000mm, glazed with a translucent
16mm multiwall polycarbonate sheet externally clamped with an 4mm aluminium pressure plate. Ends to be infilled
with same polycarbonate sheet fixed to end rafter with curved cleader rail.
GLAZING Side elevations 10000mm x 3100mm.
Constructed from extruded aluminium flush frames - 102 x 45 box section with pocket glazing seals, finish anodised
satin silver grade AA25, glazed with 6.4mm laminated safety glass. 7no. panes per elevation, size to be 14285mm x
3100mm.

2. Doors.
VEHICLE ENTRY AND EXIT DOORS SPECIFICATION
ALR 40 Aluminium Sectional Door(s)
Sectional Overhead Door made from aluminium extruded sections c/w 52mm / 91mm wide intermediate vertical rails and
infill as detailed below.
(Refer to Sectional Door Technical Manual for exact No. of sections).
Infill
Bottom,intermediate and top sections glazed with 3mm single clear acrylic sheet.
Electrically operated
Electrically operated by a WA 100 - Single Phase 240v operator with: Emergency hand chain in case of power failure,
automatic reset.
IP65 protection.
Slack cable devices.

Lift rate - 150mm/sec (see section 10 -Alternatives)
B 45 N Prewired control unit built into motor c/w ready to plug in safe extra low 24v "OPEN-STOP-CLOSE" membrane
keypad with miniature lock. Open and close by "press and hold" (deadman) only. CEE 16 amp 3 pin 240v IP64 protection
plug in connections for operator and control wiring.
Opto-electric self monitoring closing edge safety devise to automatically stop a closing door on obstruction and return
150mm to clear.
Photocell safety beam.
Red & Green traffic lights.
Volt free status relays.

Outward opening inset wicket personnel door (position dependent on door width) c/w profile cylinder mortise lock, black
plastic lever handle set, door closer and electrical interlock switch.(required to one end only.)

Emergency access door in driver'side elevation (required to one side only.)

Single escape door in glazing screen, fitted with 1no. Briton 376 face panic bolt (no external locking facility)
3. Electrics
To establish which of the following options will apply to each site, a detailed electrical survey and monitoring period is
recommended, the cost of which is not included in this proposal.
1-In some but not all instances it will be necessary to deliver power to the building . If so it will have to come from the
plant room :
To get power to the building from an integrated plant room
OR
To get power to the building from a remote plant room
2- Having connected the building , power must be taken to both the entry and exit doors
To get power from the building to the carwash doors :
Install 2 supplies terminated into weatherproof isolators for roller shutters at either end of the building.
3 - In order for the wash to control the doors a Car Wash Machine/ Doors Interface is required.
Provide signal cables from card acceptor and connections to enable door control by carwash machine.

Heaters

wire guards controlled via a froststat and time
clock.
Two of these units will maintain an interior

-5C. To maintain 1C inside down to-10C three
units will be required
