Your opinion matters
WorkCover NSW would like your help to improve our products and services for small and
medium businesses, assist your business productivity and lessen the impact of workplace
injuries on families in your community.
This is your opportunity to not only voice your opinion, but to positively influence the manner
in which services are delivered to your own business, your industry and business colleagues.
We recognise that small and medium businesses face unique challenges and competing
priorities. We want to help you keep your business safe and successful.
The Small Business Forums will be rolled out across NSW to ensure each region gets the
opportunity to contribute and be heard in relation to safety matters that affect their business.
These forums will meet four times per year at a time and place appreciative of the demands
placed on businesses.
The opinions of small and medium business operators matter to WorkCover NSW. We want
to work with employers to help improve the level of workplace safety in their business.
What are the Small Business Forums?
The Small Business Forums will provide an additional link between local employers and
WorkCover NSW to determine how we can meet your needs and ensure our services are
relevant to the local business community.
The Small Business Forums will enable small and medium business operators to work with
WorkCover NSW to identify options, solutions and best practice, provide feedback and be
informed about decisions that may affect the small and medium business community.
How will the Small Business Forums benefit my business?
WorkCover NSW aims to assist you to keep your business safe and successful.
By participating in the Small Business Forums, you will be able to:
• Contribute and be heard in relation to matters that affect you
• Identify priority issues, trends and best practice of small and medium business to
inform policy, service and product development
• Learn more about workplace safety and how to make your business a safe business
• Be up to date with what's new with WorkCover NSW
• Network with other small and medium businesses
• Build your capacity to improve OHS and workers compensation in your workplace
• Be on the cutting edge for any changes to codes of practice or OHS legislation
• Share the safety achievements of your business
• Work with WorkCover NSW to assist other small and medium businesses
• Simply have your say.
Is there any cost involved?
The Small Business Forums are a FREE service designed to assist small and medium
business operators to contribute and be heard in relation to safety matters that affect them.
Who can participate?
WorkCover NSW aims to have adequate representation of small and medium business
owners across industry and regions, to reflect the diversity of the NSW business community.
Small to medium business operators with up to 199 staff are invited to participate by lodging
an Expression of Interest.
I have an interest in small business. Can I apply?
Membership in the Small Business Forums is restricted to small and medium business
owners, and does not include staff representatives such as OHS officers or committee
members, managers, or third party representatives such as accountants or financial advisors.
How much time is involved?
The Small Business Forums will meet four times per year at a time and place that is
appreciative of the demands placed on small and medium businesses.
