Bulletin

Once the bulletin has been created and printed (done with), reopen it in Publisher and take the following

actions, remembering NOT to SAVE.

1. If you have time, first move the pages so that the service is all first and then all the notices are at

the end by switching the Caring and Sharing page around and moving the last pages of the service

forward. This is only if you have the time.

2. Change the output format: File>Print Set up and change it to Letter and portrait size. Make

Adobe PDF the printer (when you ‘print’ it will bring up a PDF form of the bulletin.) Select

properties for the printer and be sure that the paper quality is set to Black and White and that the

“advanced” tab is set to Letter, Portrait, and 300 DPI in the pull down section for numbers.

3. File>Page Set up> Normal

4. File> Print (make sure it’s printing all the pages) and then you will save it to the desktop with the

name bulletin01.pdf . Remember to make it exactly like this or it won’t work!

5. Then the PDF will show up and you can look it over. Once it looks okay, click out and then bring

up the website storage folder on the desktop, which might take a minute or so to load. Drag the

bulletin PDF you created and drop it into this folder. It will take some time to load. Then go online

to st-tim.org to make sure it loaded properly.

Monthly Newsletter

After the newsletter is all done, reopen and start by deleting the two calendar pages.

Save the newsletter as a webpage.

File>Create website from current publication

Save to desktop folder named web newsletter with the filename newsletter.pub

File>save as webpage>select the desktop folder named web newsletter if it is not already.

Open the web storage folder on the desktop and once open, drag the newsletter folder and plop it in the

folder. After it is all loaded, check online to make sure it looks okay.

Sunday Ministry Schedule

Save a copy of the schedule with the name ministry schedule.doc onto the desktop

File>save as a web page>ministry schedule.htm directly to the desktop

Transfer the file ministry schedule.htm to the webspace by pulling up the storage folder on the desktop and

plopping it in. Check online to make sure it looks good.

Calendar

1

For the weekly calendar in the bulletin, you can easily take it from our website. Go to our website

(favorite #1 on the internet explorer) and click on the calendar that you have updated.

To update the calendar from outlook, go to the calendar and click save as webpage. Choose the 2

months you want to save, the month you are in and the next month. Save as is because it should be set to

go to the proper folder on the desktop. Once it has saved (have it overwrite everything in the folder unless

you deleted it all and then it shouldn’t ask you this), open the web storage folder and drag it in to save.

Check online to make sure it saved your most recent update. Update every week at least.

Pull up the calendar and highlight the week starting with Sunday for the bulletin. Hit Ctrl C to copy or

right click and copy, whatever. Then pull up a word document and paste, Ctrl V, then hit Ctrl Alt A all

that the same time. This grey box should come up, hit okay. And then it should start zipping around and

moving about. Hit okay until it looks close to what you put in the bulletin.

What I would do here is bold all the places that need bolding, add the times that it for some reasons

fails to add and cut out anything that is no longer happening. DO NOT change the font yet as it

gets picky. Copy this and paste it to the publisher file where the calendar goes. Make sure that

there is a text box to plop it into so it goes easily, otherwise it’s totally a pain.

So you have it in Publisher now and Ctrl A to highlight the whole calendar and change your font

to Lucinda Bright or whatever you are using these days and the size font you want, usually 11 if

you have the room. Then Tab to move the times away from the event and space the dates however

you like. Voila!
