Are discussion forums such as this better or worse forms of communication than in-class discussions; given
that there is no nonverbal communication in these forums, can we really understand each other?

In this country, are there sub-cultural differences in nonverbal communication that enhance meaning
between members of the same sub-culture, but complicate or inhibit meaning between members of different
sub-cultures?
