Position: Lodging Management Assistant (Trainer)         Category: Regular
Series/Grade: NF-0525-III                                Salary Range: $12.39 - $29.95
Location: MacDill Inn
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a full range of accounting duties for transactions involving funds used for on-base lodging & contract quarters.
Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals/subsidiary ledgers & posting entries to establish accounts in the property
management system. Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts & transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all
accounts. Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents & assigns charges appropriately. Classifies & verifies
accuracy of a wide variety of accounting documents to ensure balances are in agreement. Prepares control sheets/required
forms; enters data into a system with subdivision of allotments which reflect commonly used classes of accounts. Serves
as back-up administrator for the lodging automated data system. Responsible for the administration of Lodging’s
hospitality training & development programs in accordance with Air Force Lodging standards. Plans, manages & directs
courses required to maintain ongoing training program which meets Lodging program objectives & supports required
Wing/Mission Support Group/Services training requirements. Creates training plans to encompass needs of section
supervisors to ensure employee attendance. Coordinates with Lodging Manager/Assistant to establish & maintain budgets
for training, incentives and recognition items. Ensures completion of all hospitality training required for certification with
the Educational Institute. Coordinates w/the Educational Institute to obtain training dates, materials & instruction plans.
Conducts training record review IAW established procedures and briefs Lodging Management. Creates & coordinates
recognition programs to provide acknowledgement of training completion. Ensures compliance with Innkeeper and Air
Force Golden Eagle programs and standards. Provides admin support to the Lodging Manager performing various clerical
and administrative duties; office automation duties include preparing variety of recurring correspondence, internal reports
& other documents from information obtained from the staff/file/other sources and review/finalizes documents prepared
by others; composes routine, non-technical correspondence such as requests for information. Proofreads/edits
correspondence & documents for grammar & format; consolidates and finalizes information for various reports IAW
reporting procedures and instructions; reviews & processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials
publications, regulations and directives. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position of Trust.
Work experience in operational management of civilian or military lodging program, hospitality, food service program or
business management which provided the level of knowledge/skill to perform duties as described. This experience must
have been sufficient enough to demonstrate skill and knowledge in such areas as team building, customer service,
scheduling and financial management. Must have experience in work that provided comprehensive knowledge of fund
accounting methods, procedures & techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts in accounting
system. Knowledge and understanding of the regulations, guides & precedents sufficient to interpret/apply them in a
variety of accounting situations. Knowledge of accounting system sufficient to flow individual funds and specific monies
form initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the system.
