RESOURCES FOR BUSINESS GROWTH
Excelsior Jobs Program
Is your firm planning on explosive growth in the next 5 years? The Excelsior Jobs
Program will provide job creation and investment incentives to firms in such targeted
industries as biotechnology, pharmaceutical, high-tech, clean-technology, green
technology, financial services, agriculture and manufacturing. Firms in these strategic
industries that create and maintain new jobs or make significant financial investment will
be eligible for up to four new tax credits. The Program will encourage businesses to
expand in and relocate to New York while maintaining strict accountability standards to
guarantee that businesses deliver on job and investment commitments. Program costs
are capped at $250 million annually to maintain fiscal affordability and ensure that New
Yorkers realize a positive return on their investment.
Tax Credits
Firms in the Excelsior Jobs Program may qualify for four new, fully refundable tax
credits. Businesses claim the credits over a five year period. Please contact Karen
Nieves at 718-388-7287 x 160 or knieves@ewvidco.com for more information.

GREEN BUSINESS CORNER
Green Business Survey
The New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN) is conducting a survey of local
manufacturing companies to estimate the number of companies producing green
products, gauge manufacturers' interest in instituting energy efficiency measures, and to
learn about company workforce needs. There is a particular focus on green
manufacturing and businesses producing construction materials, interior building
products, lighting or electronic components, heating and cooling equipment, and
metalwork, but all manufacturers are strongly encouraged to respond.
This survey should only take 5 minutes to complete. These responses will help shape
our services and advocacy efforts on behalf of all New York City manufacturing
businesses.
