Archiving Email
The purpose of archiving email is to save the email on a local drive for back up and
historical purposes. Outlook email has a inbox limit which can quickly be used up if
messages are not regularly deleted or archived.
Procedures:
1. Click FILE
2. Click ARCHIVE
3. Select the folder to archive. This is usually your inbox and all subfolders you
have created
4. Next at the bottom of this box select the archive location. For ACR it will be in
you’re my DOCUMENTS. This way the folder will be backed up nightly.
5. Click BROWSE
6. Browse to NETWORK PLACES

7. Locate your personal “H” drive as shown here then click OK
8. Your archiving window should look like the illustration below. You can select
the date BACKWARD in which to archive
9. Click OK.
10. A user may have more than one archive folder. NOTE: There is a 1 Gigabyte
limit on each archive folder.
11. Your Outlook Navigation bar will display the archive folder as shown here:
